📖 [ROKR Journey] Update 3 Steam engine

After a busy period, my father was finally able to work on the steam engine again. He sent me an update so I can share it with you. I’m very proud of how carefully he’s crafting his first build, and I really appreciate that he’s sharing his updates :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This is his own written update:
I worked on the steam engine for a few more hours. My late father’s old, small files are coming in handy again.

Painting takes longer than building, but it does look beautiful. Some beautifully painted parts, unfortunately, are no longer visible later :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

And does the flywheel have to be three colors? A bit odd. Maybe I should just make it black.

He is doing such a beautiful job! Yes, I would make the flywheel all black around the edges.

I’ve already suggested that too @Nita_Davis. I think the outside will be completely black soon

That’s so nice, proud of him… I also try to affect my mom but she more interesting in Mahjong… By right the flywheel should all be black but… by left he can keep it if he like to… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: keep his own personal ideal into the assembly is a fun too  just my perspective

Me too  Looking at the build so far I wouldn’t say this is his first kit

Haha my husband doesn’t want to build anything, he says he doesn’t have the patience for it, but he’s never tried it…just keep at it…one day we’ll get them to build their own kit

Everything looks do beautifully and carefully done. I love the old filing tools on this picture, reminds me of my grandpas old tools he used to keep in his shed… I am inspired to get my own set,

Your welcome @Orangesareus :hugs: My grandfather built a large wooden ship a long time ago. He used these files for that. So they’ll definitely come in handy.
