My father was able to build something further with his steam engine. This is his experience with the steam engine.
Day 2: Hours of painting and assembling, now a little further along. Superglue is handy for repairing broken bits, and luckily there are spare parts.
Even the smallest parts are being painted.
Oops, the front came loose. I glued it back on anyway.

He tested it, according to the manual, everything works, but the gears in the gearbox are a bit wobbly 
Wow! He’s doing such a great job with the painting. I hope the wobbly part is normal and will get better as he adds more parts. Have fun building the rest.

You can really see the dedication. Hours of painting, even on the tiniest parts, really make a difference in the final look. Superglue and spare parts definitely come in handy with a kit this detailed, and little “oops” moments like the front coming loose are all part of the journey. Glad it was an easy fix!
Huge respect to your father for the patience and craftsmanship. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together. Keep the updates coming! 
I also hope the wobbly part will become less. I haven’t been able to inspect the structure yet, so I don’t know if it’s normal for it to wobble 
There is no paint in this kit. He bought some paint to customize it.
He really enjoys doing it. This is his first build, and I think it’s great that he’s painting it right away. I think he’s done a great job so far

He really likes it. He just hasn’t had much time to build it, and he builds with great precision
