Meetup Event 01 Thunder Bay, Canada
Crafting Joy Together

With the last fall of a maple leaf into winter, came
the first Robotime Community Meetup in Canada.

A quiet beginning. No spotlight, no rush, just tables waiting, hands gathering, and something small but meaningful about to take shape, one piece at a time.

With thanks to
@Emma_Samchek, the one who brings the magic quietly, kindly, and wholeheartedly.
1. A Winter Afternoon of Making & Connection
On January 3rd, 2026, inside The Hive in Thunder Bay, Ontario, a calm winter afternoon slowly filled with warmth. At 2:30 PM, makers of all ages gathered for DIY & Crafting Club Meetup 01, a Make & Take event hosted in partnership with Robotime, Rolife, and ROKR.
Tools rested on the tables. Kits waited patiently. A warm drink sat nearby.

Some arrived with friends; others came alone, but no one stayed that way for long.
Laughter rose softly as tiny pieces were searched for,
steps were explained, and
helping hands reached across the table. Time slowed. Focus deepened. The room filled not with noise, but with presence.

Different builds found their rhythm.
The guys teamed up, moving quickly through their ROKR kits, surprised by how satisfying and immersive the process felt.
Nearby, the ladies gravitated toward
Starry Night and
Puppy Villa, easing into the flow together, friendships forming naturally as the scenes came to life.

Although a flu

moving through the city meant a few participants couldn’t attend, the atmosphere
remained warm and steady. Curious passersby paused, asked questions, and
discovered Robotime for the first time through conversations, shared enthusiasm, and a thoughtfully placed QR code.

By the end of the afternoon, no one left as a stranger.

What Remained After the Tables Were Cleared
As the meetup drew to a close, people lingered. Conversations continued. Photos were taken. One participant finished their build later that night and sent pictures right away, unable to wait to share what they’d made.

When asked if they would continue building or explore more Robotime kits, every answer was
yes.

Some left with finished models in hand. Others left with something quieter: new friendships, a sense of belonging, the memory of an afternoon well spent.
This wasn’t just a crafting session. It was a reminder that
creativity connects us. That making things together slows the world down. And that sometimes, all it takes is one caring host to light up an entire room.

Thank you to Emma, to every participant who showed up with open hands and open hearts. Here’s to more builds, more tables, bigger rooms, and many more beginnings ahead!

Meet Emma · Where Creativity Becomes Care
For
@Emma_Samchek , creativity has always been more than a hobby. It’s how she loves. How she heals. How she connects.
Her journey with Robotime didn’t start with an event, but with moments of building late into the evening, finding calm in careful details, learning patience piece by piece.

During difficult chapters of her life, making things with her hands gave her focus, comfort, and a sense of grounding.
Love played a part, too.

Emma often speaks about her boyfriend Kalvin, her partner of two years, as someone who
brought light back into her world
. From caring for her when she’s sick, to chasing her through a store with a pirate sword, to buying her kits she doesn’t yet have, he’s been her steady warmth. One of her most meaningful builds is
Kalvin’s first Robotime kit, the moment he joined her at the table and discovered the joy for himself.

That shared love for building quietly expanded into something bigger.
At home, Emma’s creativity spills into every corner:
Book Nooks glowing softly,
Christmas Wreath full of holiday vibes

. Robotime isn’t just something she builds; it’s something she lives with, celebrates, and shares.

So when she hosted Canada’s very first Robotime meetup, it wasn’t about being first. It was about being open.
About choosing a familiar, beloved space like
The Hive, where she’s painted pottery for over five years.

About making sure there was a kit for everyone. About noticing who needed help. About turning a table of tools into a place where people felt safe to slow down.
Emma once said she’s always wanted to be a positive change in her community, to bring people together through
love, passion, and kindness. This meetup was simply that wish, made visible.

A beginning. A gathering. A light shared outward.

And if this was Canada’s first Robotime meetup, it already feels like many more are waiting quietly, patiently, to be built next!
