Robotime DIY Workshop- Melbourne, Australia Meetup 2 (Recap)
A beautiful Saturday morning on the 18th of April, the sun slowly comes out as Melburnians just get over a few days of chilly weather. At first, we are a group of strangers gathered at a local library, but soon after, we break out of that comfort zone and connect with one another in some way by building miniature kits and sharing our experiences. To be honest, apart from connecting with my local community members through my workplace, organising this meetup was such a pleasure, as it allows building enthusiasts out there who enjoy this same hobby to share their building experience.
Thank you so much to @Robotime for the support and for providing the free kit to participants to enjoy. Through Robotime support, we have successfully welcomed 18 participants to the community. We could have had 20 participants; however, 2 could not attend, but 18 of our participants were having an amazing time at the event. We had 4 participants from the previous event, and 14 were joining us for the first time. Thank you to all our lovely participants for joining and share with us your experiences (@Carmie , @Sstephreads , @Neilbrand , @Darrell , @jdimko , @Terii @Bianca, @divya0015 , @Donna_D , @Mudita , @Priya2908 , @Keval2005 , @EmMather, @Melons1977 & Nhat Ngo).
Here are some of our snap shot from the event.
Thanks @Neilbrand for sharing your lovely build with us. Your painting skills and colour choice were absolutely beautiful.
Nhat Ngo, I really like your tram and thank you for sharing your photos with us from your professional camera. I like the fact that you glued in the internal parts of the build which makes it more rigid , and that fact that you mix the glue with water so it doesn’t dry out too quickly was very smart.
Thanks @Darrell for joining and sharing your customise puppy villa. It was truly amazing work of art when you decided to turn something just so simple from your garden and turn the design of your puppy villa to something so beautiful and cozy.
@Melons1977 & @EmMather, Thank you for taking your time to come and join us even though it was more than an hour away from home. It was lovely to have you at the workshop.
It was lovely to see our participants walking away with great kits that they enjoyed and beautiful blindbox prizes. And our youngest participant have won the Milk Tea Nanci.
What Our Crafters Said
- “Building Robotime kits is truly therapeutic, it helps them to relief stress after a long day at work”
- “It is fun to build and not spending so much time on social media”
- “The designs of the kits are so beautiful”
- " The quality of the kits were very good"
- “Great support from customer service team”
- " The best time to relax is building better than watching TV"
Difficult moment when building.
- “Try not to loose any small pieces” - suggested to keep small parts in the box so it doesn’t go missing
- " Some older kits were difficult especially making small flowers" - But in some way it was very satisfying to make.
- " Some times instruction is not quite clear with older style kit so they could be gluing the wrong directions" - But all managed to complete.
There is always that little challenges when building but that’s what help improve our skills.
The workshop turnout very successful, everyone was having so much fun and connect with one another. I even had people approached me and ask about the workshop because it looks interesting and they would love to join us next time. Two hours just flies as we were having so much fun.
Our group photo only had 16 participant because 1 person had to leave a little earlier and 1 person doesn’t want to be part of the photo.
Overall it was a very successful and fun event.
Looking forward to another great meetup in June.
Hope to see our amazing crafters there.
Once again, thank you so much @Robotime for making this workshop possible. We are now in Autumn and will be approaching Winter very soon in June/July.
Looking forward to celebrate our winter theme together. Stay tuned for more.
With Love and have fun building!
Tricia
