After months of looking for a venue and a date and finding people who wanted to join yesterday was d-day.
I arrived a hour early to put up my signs and place the tools and arrange the drinks and snacks.
Then the first people started arriving bringing snacks of their own. So we had more then enough haha.
I showed them the 3 kits they could choose from. 2 parents and their 2 daughters choose the small postoffice and the other women choose the little square diorama with the purple tree.
I told them about the brand and the community and then we started building.
The parents were amazed at how focused and driven the girls were building the kit. The youngest one doesn’t have a long attention span normally but we kept on going.
Everyone was so focused they forgot to interact sometimes with was great.
Before they knew the 3 hours had passed without them knowing. They said the were so relaxed and totally understood that you get in a zone when building.
Only 1 kit was finished at the end so they all took there kits home but already said they would love to come again and would send me pictures of their kits. I think i made the father of the family addicted to the building virus as he was very interested in the rokr kits for the future.
We had a small group but the vibe was really great and serene.
Next up the meet up on March 7th with @Liset wich i will also attend.
much much love reading this update! To spark the love of building minis is all we need, the rest of passion will follow soon. Thank you for giving them the feels of being in the zone building these kits
Hope to read their side of story about this meetup here!
What an amazing experience @Jerry_Boswijk! I’m so happy for you and your attendants. They may have been few, but looks like they had a great time with you and it won’t be the last kit for some of them, I’m sure of it.
Thanks for sharing! You all look so happy and satisfyed in the pictures.
Any advices for someone who’ll be hosting his first meet up in less than two months?
What a nice little group. The smiles of the children say it all. That’s great that they all enjoyed themselves and the group photo is wonderful. Did you have some of your builds in display Jerry?
Lovely group of people Jerry. It is also so thoughtful that they bring their own snack As a first time i see it as a big success Your hard work paid off!
I also think this is a great opportunity for children to learn focus so the family will be for sure hooked with this new hobby
