👍 [Pro Tips] Had to do an emergency repair on my “Sakura Dreamy Tour” sound knob

The sound knob came loose when I turned it so I had to open up the frame to reattach it.

The sound button has always been difficult to turn. Has anyone else noticed that with this kit? Or did I miss a piece or something?

Hopefully that will hold. I added a small piece of paper to give the knob a little more room to turn. At least the train is still running freely.

I have not tried building a Sakura Tour yet but I am planning to buy one in the future.

Hopefully someone in the community can answer your question about the knob.

Oh goodness. I certainly hope that solves your problem. MANY here have done this one and I’ve not seen anyone post about this. If it were me, I would’ve done a search to find out who HAS done this one before fixing it and tagged them in the post. Best of luck to you!

I’m really unhappy to hear about your problem. I hope everyone and @CustomerService can help you. This seems to be the first time I’ve heard about this issue.

I’ve got it patched for now. I tested it after the glue dried and it seems to be working again. The knob is still a little stiff. But functional.

I’m so glad to hear the issue has been resolved.

Oh that’s interesting but I haven’t a clue as I haven’t really made any of the mechanical kits, yet. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I wonder if screwing the board it will work? Screws are helpful for book nooks when they don’t fit snugly.

Hi there! We think the switch part has ended up glued shut. Don’t worry—we’ll send you replacement parts for it right away! Just a heads up: please don’t use any glue when you install the new part this time.

Hi there! Why not try loosening the screw right here? It might fix the problem you’re having easily.

Oh. I think you could be right. I might have over tightened the tiny screw. That would explain why the knob was so difficult to turn.

Also, when the knob broke I noticed the screw had broke in half.

I added all the glue later as an attempt to reattach the pieces. It is currently holding and the knob is functional for now.

Great work. This is one of my favourite

Oh no, glad you managed to fix it!
In my case the sound knob works fine and turns smoothly, so it might just be a small assembly tolerance or positioning issue. Your paper trick is really clever though . Geat quick fix!

I think customer service helped me figure out what I did wrong.

I over tightened the screw and that made it hard to turn. The screw broke off from being too tight and that is when the knob fell off.

Right now I have it glued and the knob is functional again. I’m not 100% sure if the glue will be enough to hold long term but I’m am at least glad to know what the issue was.
