👍 [Pro Tips] An alternative way to easily fix broken wooden pieces with missing parts

I wanted to share how I easily fixed a broken piece in a kit I am currently working on that was missing the broken parts, just in case anyone else faces this problem in the future. I know you can easily replace pieces for free but it was not hard to fix it on my own.

This is from the Secret Garden Series - Sweet Forest

A piece of the chair came broken (circled red), but the broken pieces were not in the plastic bag.

I put it together temporarily to see how it looks with the broken part.

Here is how I fixed the piece:
First I used the leftover wood and cut it into small pieces. Using super glue I attached the cut up wood to the broken piece to build up the missing part.

I then traced the piece that was complete on a piece of paper and glued it to the wood to get the shape of how I need to sand it.
In this scenario, there was another piece that was the exact same that I could use as a reference, but Robotime provides a page at the start in the instructions that shows all the pieces that can be used instead to get the right stencil shape.

I sanded the extra wood I attached to match the shape of the paper stencil and was able to sand the stencil paper I glued to the wood right off. I then used an exact knife to curve out the cuts by the laser. Now the shape matches, but the newly attached wood colour doesn’t match the paint.

I colour matched the paint and painted the newly attached wood.

Here’s how it looks glued together from both sides:

And here is the fixed piece ! Hopefully it’s hard to tell that it was originally broken.

Thanks for reading :sparkles:
