What’s an easy way to change the color of a build without the time it takes to paint and dry? Furniture repair markers are a great option! In the case of this telescope that I am building, I didn’t want to paint over the swirly designs, but wanted to add a little different color. These markers are super easy and I don’t wait on them to dry. Just color, then assemble.
In this case, I used mahogany for the main part of the telescope.
Then I used an acrylic paint brush marker to paint just the edges of certain oak colored pieces. I chose gold for that accent as I thought it would help it to pop, and to look rustic like an old pirate telescope.
That’s a great idea. I live how the color on the wood turns out with these markers. And it’s nice that you can build immediately and don’t need to wait for it to dry.
Hi @Tkaplan, this furniture marker tip is genuinely useful. The mahogany, oak, and gold accents keep the details visible while giving the telescope a lovely old world feel!
