👍 [Rolife - Challenge & Achievement]💡🖊️ Painting, Trials and Errors and more…

I wanted to share a bit of my experience and how I tried a few different things to get the results I wanted :artist_palette::sparkles:

I needed a gold finish on some wooden parts and was given gold acrylic paint.

I didn’t love how translucent it looked, so I wiped it off and added white acrylic first. Tried the gold again and still wasn’t happy.

I even sanded the white off and tested a gold enamel paint. It started off okay but quickly turned gunky.

Cue the light bulb moment :light_bulb: I remembered I had bought some random Monochrome Gold and Silver markers from Temu months ago. The gold one worked amazingly well. It dries fast and actually looks like real metal once dry. Total game changer

:backhand_index_pointing_right:t3: Next little mishap was the teal cabinet legs. I accidentally glued them on upside down. I only noticed because I was about to paint them  I carefully popped them off, sanded away the glue, and reattached them cleanly with no issues.

FIXED

HOT TIP :fire:
Again… Run :woman_running:t2: and get The magnetic alligator clips. They made it so easy to hold my tassel upside down and glue it securely to the bottom of the lamp with almost no fuss. Absolute lifesaver…again! :black_heart::sparkles:

I’m going to notes your helpful tips. Thank you for this. It’s really helpful as for someone like who is still amateur in building kits. :pink_heart:

Omg I really need those clips. I’m gonna go shopping.

I wanted to look into getting some coloured paper too. My first customisation project has confirmed my preference to NOT paint so maybe I can substitute some future projects with wallpaper instead. :pink_heart:

Me, I don’t want to solve problems. I hate Math or anything that makes my brain works. Yes. Being an artist is really a big help to be more creative. :pink_heart:
