I’m really happy you like them. I had a lot of fun with the little horse details ![]()
That’s so sweet of you. I really enjoy painting them too, even if it takes me forever ![]()
Ohhhhhhhh, I really appreciate that, Jill! And yesss, I think the painted edges make such a difference on this one.
Ohhhh yes, they’re so cute, aren’t they? hehehe I’m really enjoying this build!
Thank you! I really felt they were worth the extra time, and this kit is such a special one to work on ![]()
I feel exactly the same. Painting and customizing makes the whole process longer, but in such a relaxing and enjoyable way. And I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels some kits look a bit unfinished without it ![]()
Thank you, Sue! I had a great time! heheh
And yes, exactly, once you get used to painting edges it’s hard not to feel that way anymore. It adds time, but it changes the final look so much ![]()
I can totally agree with you. ![]()
I wish I had more time so I could customize my kits even more. My problem is that I end up demanding too much from myself, and then I don’t like the result

@Wenbare
I am of like mind. I do not like to see the bare edges on the colorful items such as the horses, or elves, or the 2d things I have done in the past.
I prefer to paint them. Things like the zebra can really be tough but you still work through!
Keep up the awesome work Wendy!
Wow, you did a great job painting the edges. The colors match so well!
Exactly, that’s exactly how I feel too. Once the item is colorful, the bare edges stand out so much to me, even if painting them can be a real challenge sometimes. And thank yoooou ![]()
Ohhhh, I’m really glad you think so! I tried my best to make the colors match nicely, so that makes me very happy
heheh
Oh twin the horses turned out amazing!
I know how hard work colour matching and painting edges are! You know my complaints and you’ve done a beautiful job! ![]()
I totally get what you mean! Ever since I got my hands on acrylic markers I’m forced to paint the edges. ![]()
I know you had a lovely Sant Jordi! ![]()
It looks amazing! I prefer to paint the edges. I agree with you that painted edges looks better on the build. Painted the edges of these horses took a long time for me, but it’s totally worth it.
Something happens to me when I start looking at colors to choose how to paint the wood pieces or the edges, I can find the exact shade I want really quickly. I think my puzzle experience is finally paying off (look at me being all fancy
) hahaha
What’s funniest, though, is that I’m not colorblind, but I do have trouble with colors in the sense that I can tell a strong blue from a lighter blue, for example, but I get a little bid lost with all the different shades in between. So I don’t understand myself at all ![]()
Exactly, that’s how I feel too. It takes so so so much time, but in the end it really is worth ![]()
Hahaha maybe you can come and choose my colours for me.
I’m struggling but maybe it’s because my acrylic markers aren’t 128 colours. It’s a sign to buy more. ![]()
You can always ask AI to suggest which colors might work well. I’ve shown it the markers I have, the kit I want to paint, and asked for ideas, and it tells you the marker numbers, where to use them, and which other marker numbers to combine them with. It’s actually not bad at all!
But the solution to your problem is easy, my twin… you need to buy more colors ![]()
