Been doing this for about two days now after work at night. I’ve been so busy at work it really has been wearing me out. But this hobby allows my mind to rest and at this point in my life, it’s what I need.
This kit is a nice surprise. It has an antique vintage color scheme. No bright colors and everything seems aged. The pieces are thin but not excessively so. It’s coming together nicely.
Edge coloring has been a challenge as the colors in this kit are very different than most kits. So a lot is just keeping the edge the same wood color with my furniture markers however ,…
Needs to be colored on the side. For the life of me I cannot match it at all. I don’t have he color for it out of my 100+ colors. It’s a kind of antique pale green? A arsenic color maybe on the vase? I don’t know. I gotta mix some colors maybe with my acrylic paints or just go buy more markers ( no honey I didn’t say I need more markers!…shh guys I think my wife heard me..)
But I’ll figure it out tomorrow. Now it’s time for bed. For another day comes and the world needs me.
I would just paint the whole thing…BUT considering that the edges may not be seen from the frontal view, I would also consider not worrying too much about it at all. Rest well.
Did someone say more markers?! Hahaha I always tell myself I need more and now I think I have too many totally worth it tho!! Your kit is coming along really nicely excited to see more photos of this kit! I really like the vintage vibe that it has.
I’m so glad this hobby gives you a chance to unwind after those long workdays. Sometimes an hour of building is exactly what we need to recharge. And I had to laugh at your marker dilemma! That little vase really picked the one color you don’t have. I vote for mixing acrylics first before giving yourself an excuse to buy more markers… although I’m not making any promises your wife will agree! I hope you find the perfect match tomorrow. Sleep well, and happy building!
You are not alone, @Grey74 . Hang in there! I’m glad that crafting can bring us the peace and quiet that we need after a tiring day.
I’m sure your wife didnt hear your thoughts shouting for more markers! Lol!
You got this!!
@Grey74 lol more markers wont hurt ! Paunting edges also takes time … its coming along nicley … even if its an hour after a busy day it can help dea stress .. i hope your ok !
