This weekend I made some progress on the classic carousel. Painting over the pre-painted part is tricky because the paint doesn’t soak into the wood, which causes color shifts more quickly. I now have to apply two coats everywhere. Fortunately, I’m happy with the results so far. I have to work again in the next few days, so it will be a while before I post another update.

Nice colors! I like what you’re doing so far.
Giving it a 2 coats makes the kit more lively. It’s awesome!!
It is going to be SO beautiful! Your artwork is stunning!
Those colors are so vibrant! Good choices!
I came before I run out of likes hahaha! ![]()
I know I say this every post but I love the colours so much! You make it look easy! ![]()
Wow. The colors are great. Looks perfect
Keep up the good work!!
It’s looking lovely.
Don’t you hate it when work interferes with hobby time?
I really love the colours you are using! Super classic! ![]()

Thank you @Anje_Leonoza_Mira
On unpainted wood, one coat of the blue color was enough, but because this wood is already pre-painted, the brush strokes show up more quickly and it covers less well.
Thank you @Nita_Davis and @Tkaplan ![]()
Thank you @JDisaduck I think these colors go really well together. I’m just not sure if I should have made the bottom plate red as well, but I’m not going to take everything apart again, so I’ll just leave it as is for now.
Thank you @Atropex, @ThaoNguyen and @Lucia_Anderson ![]()
Thank you @Suzanne_Jones Luckily I also enjoy my work, but building remains my favorite and I can’t wait to have some free time again ![]()
Wow, your lines are perfect! ![]()
I think the red looks fine but I get what you mean.
Maybe you’ll get a better idea when you start to assemble the rest, I think the railings might hide quite a bit of the red? ![]()
Colors are so beautiful
looking good @Liset
