The preparations for the event felt much easier this time around, maybe because it was my second time running the meetup, or because it was held in a familiar location
When discussing the event with my tutor, he thought the idea was amazing and was very supportive in helping arrange the room, time, and overall setup
He even offered to print the posters and distribute them around the university, which I really appreciated ![]()
On the day of the event, I bought snacks and drinks
and started setting everything up. I wasn’t as nervous as last time because @abdussalam (my co-host) and I arrived well ahead of time to organize the room and properly plan the flow of the event ![]()
We displayed the Robotime banner outside the room before the meetup started and arranged all the kits, Nanci blind bags, and snack station. I also brought along some examples of previous builds to showcase what people could create ![]()
Most people arrived on time and were genuinely excited when they saw the setup and the different kits they would be building
After a quick introduction to Robotime and myself, we began distributing the kits randomly so people could swap, interact, and start conversations with each other
The overall building environment felt very calm, welcoming, and comforting
Some attendees arrived halfway through the event or couldn’t stay for the full session because it was exam and submission season, even though many of them wanted to stay longer and continue building with everyone, they had to return to their university work
.
Halfway through the meetup, we gave out the Nanci blind bags using a “spin the wheel” game to keep the giveaway fair and engaging for everyone ![]()
I was also inspired by another ambassador’s event idea where everyone described their experience in one word and most people were really happy to take part in it ![]()
At the end of the event, participants also took photographs and posted short descriptions of the meetup on either Instagram or Facebook in exchange for Nanci Fruits blind boxes. One participant even managed to pull the mystery Peach Nanci figure, which has only a 1/72 chance of being found ![]()

We concluded the meetup with a group photo
and answered questions people had about the event and Robotime. One of the most common questions people asked was:
“When is the next event taking place?” ![]()
A huge thank you to @Robotime for all the incredible support throughout this event and for generously providing such a large quantity and variety of kits
Seeing so many people come together, enjoy the experience, and discover a new creative hobby genuinely would not have been possible without your support.
