[Heartwarming] Kuala Lumpur Malaysia DIY & Crafting Club Meetup 03 Recap

In the heart of Malaysia; the city of Kuala Lumpur, I hosted the :sparkles: first Robotime DIY & Crafting Club Meetup 03 Malaysia :sparkles: on the 9th of May 2026 last week :sparkling_heart:

This time, our venue supported by Balai Seni Negara aka National Art Gallery KL where they provided us a spacious room that could literally fit 30 paxes!

Amidst the final attendees only 8 paxes, which in all honesty I had anticipated lower than paxes registered 15 paxes, I am grateful about completing my first Robotime meetup. It was a small close group with 6 of them from our local Kawan Buku Club

The kits for this meetup has all Robotime lines

ROLIFE : Eiffel Tower TGL01

ROKR : AK-47 Assault Rifle Toy Gun LQ901

ROWOOD : Wooden Flower Bouquet TW01H

The theme were Parent’s Day :people_hugging: and altho only two is a mother in our meetup, I hope the kits is a great addition at everyone’s house; also could be gift it for their parents!

Sooo on to the recap of our whole 3 hours

I was quite nervous preparing on the meetup day. The moving parts reminding me that I should take better care of my health like in my prime. I was moving things around alone: from the storage room into car and from car into the venue.

Originally sorted three tables with 5 paxes each; with name tags plus Photo and Video Consent Agreement forms on top of table. I have 13 paxes confirmed namelist so 5 paxes each table is balanced enough plus with me navigating the meetup.

Cutely enough, all 7 attendees choose to sit together in one table.

5 of the attendees were a first timer in DIY miniatures kits, with @Emily_Hu @Ayesha_Shameena, and Nadee having the senior experiences!

Here’s Emily’s recap completing the AK-47 Assault Rifle. There’s a grueling 1 hour for her, and from then on; everyone INCLUDING me learned to stay locked on reading the instructions. I’m glad she’s able to provide her feedbacks based from her experiences during the meetup.

Here’s Ayesha short recap

We were so engrossed that I had to remind them to take snacks and water breaks

I decided for my next meetup that it’s best to request Robotime kits that has shorter time to complete, probably within 2 hours.

And just like that, with frustations, laughters and new friends company; 3 hours flew by us at Art Depot, Balai Seni Negara

Psst!

:sparkles: There’s another meetup by our Malaysian @Kit_Mun this month. :sparkles:

Congratulations on your meetup. When you need to remind the participants to take a break for a snack or drink, they are truly invested in their kit. And that’s a success
