Had some more times to build my magical cafe. Stuffed up with the gluing so hopefully it will work out well. For some reason one of my paper cut for the stairs went missing. So I might have to paint this stairs. This will add extra time to building it. ![]()
You could maybe print some brick patterns and cut them to size
I think that would be easier than painting the plastic. The plastic I find quite terrible to paint personally, very streaky. Maybe if you sponge it on though too.
that could be a good idea. I haven’t thought of any other ways of doing them. May be I will try to cut up a pattern and glue.
I look forward to seeing what you do! ![]()
Hopefully I don’t get side tracked too much with xmas builds. ![]()
You’re getting there!
Yeah I agree, I think I would rather print something for the stairs than paint.
It’s a wonderful kit. You did great.
Looks like it’s coming together well!
I just love these builds that are a little different than the normal ones! You’re doing great! ![]()

Thank you. I can’t wait to finish it and put the plastic tube over it. ![]()
Thanks @ThaoNguyen
Yeah. I will try to find a nice looking one and resize it.
It looks amazing.i love the gold painted bricks. It is a challenge but you got this.
It’s coming along so beautifully! Even with the little hiccups, you’re handling everything so well. Painting the stairs might even make it more unique, look it this way ![]()
Thanks @Jerry_Boswijk . There’s more I gotta paint with these bricks. ![]()
It already looks beautiful. I would, as @Nectarines suggested, print out a pattern and stick it on the stairs. I dont know witch pattern the original stairs have but here i found an example
It is much easier to paint the plastic if you sand it first. Paint does not like to adhere (or grab on to) to smooth surfaces. @Nectarines
I guess I am misunderstanding the part about the paper stairs? The ones pictured appear to be plastic. Did you paint the gold brick or did it come that way? I am unfamiliar with this model.
Cool, good luck.
Yes, I did sand them lightly but unfortunately this plastic just paints up really horribly in my experience
Maybe try priming them with white first? When I did the balloons on my parachute ride, I sprayed those with a bonding primer…but that’s because I have it just lying around…LOL! I did not want any problems knowing how much I would be handling them throughout the build…and since I did multiple colors on each balloon. @Nectarines
