👍 [Rolife DIY & Creativity]Update 1: Mysterious World Magical Cafe

I really enjoy building this kit. There is a lot of sections that need to be done from scratch. So to make it easier, I decided to do all the painting first.
Here is some of my progress photos. All of parts have at least 2 coats of paint. However, for some of the parts I do think I need to paint another coat. Just not having a good coverage with the paint that comes with the kit.

For the pink parts I actually used the acrylic marker instead of paint because I do believe the this has a nicer pink tone where as the one provided is too light.

Next stage will be making some mini decorations.

Is this a unpainted kit?

I painted my furnature after I assembled it. I didn’t think to paint the pieces before hand. It worked out pretty well. Probably because I was only paining one color.

Your progress looks great! The colors are turning out really nicely, and painting everything first is such a smart approach. I can’t wait to see the mini decorations you make next! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I find it much easier to paint it before assembly. Sometimes I do make mistakes painting them then later on finding out it’s completely hidden.

Thanks @Wenbare . I tried to use my acrylic marker but some colours are not the same so I couldn’t. As much as I enjoy painting it with a brush, I just don’t like the cleaning. It gets quite messy for me. :joy:

I’ve done things both way, painting before and after.. I definitely think I like painting after more, than you don’t paint parts of the wood that don’t really need paint!

Looks like a lot of work, and you’ve done great!! I like painting everything before I start doing the main build too, that way you’re not constantly stopping to paint lol.

I paint before and after assembly because you always have raw edges it seems. This looks like a fun one to do. Enjoy
