I really enjoy building this kit. There is a lot of sections that need to be done from scratch. So to make it easier, I decided to do all the painting first.
Here is some of my progress photos. All of parts have at least 2 coats of paint. However, for some of the parts I do think I need to paint another coat. Just not having a good coverage with the paint that comes with the kit.
For the pink parts I actually used the acrylic marker instead of paint because I do believe the this has a nicer pink tone where as the one provided is too light.
I painted my furnature after I assembled it. I didn’t think to paint the pieces before hand. It worked out pretty well. Probably because I was only paining one color.
Your progress looks great! The colors are turning out really nicely, and painting everything first is such a smart approach. I can’t wait to see the mini decorations you make next!
Thanks @Wenbare . I tried to use my acrylic marker but some colours are not the same so I couldn’t. As much as I enjoy painting it with a brush, I just don’t like the cleaning. It gets quite messy for me.
I’ve done things both way, painting before and after.. I definitely think I like painting after more, than you don’t paint parts of the wood that don’t really need paint!
Looks like a lot of work, and you’ve done great!! I like painting everything before I start doing the main build too, that way you’re not constantly stopping to paint lol.
Looking good already, it’s a lot of work to paint everything but it would look amazing when it’s ready. Can’t wait to see your further progress. Have fun!
