A-frame update 2

I did go ahead and paint the “pink sheet” to a kind of rusty light brown. For the blue striped pillow, I painted it a chocolate brown. For the pink couch I attempted a leather look. I painted it all black and then dry brushed a brown over it. The one pillow will be fine but the other pink floral one will need to change. I may try to make a sticker with my cricut. I also have some leather looking vinyl, I could make into a pillow. Let me know your opinion. Also since the couch was plastic, I did rough it up prior to painting but am still afraid it may chip off. I was thinking of spraying with a matte clear spray?
Ideas or suggestions?

I have ModPodge as well and could use that for couch?

I LOVE the rustic color pallet! Orange is my favorite. I totally see your vision.

Thanks @SunnyCee
When I think A-frame I think lodge look and earth-tone colors

Ohh I see you painted your couch! It looks really good! I would for sure seal it with something, anything you mentioned would be fine I think.

It’s looking great!

Thanks @Nectarines I just coul not have a pink couch in this house

I agree 100%. It makes perfect sense for a ski lodge.

The pink made it a little too toy like.

Exactly my thought. Thanks!

Everything looks great! I think the leather vinyl would look good!

I am going to try the paint and mod podge and will move to the leather if needed. I kind of like the dry brushed look right now but glad I have a back up plan!

The colors you chose look fantastic already, @jeanneL! The leather effect on the couch turned out really nice!!!

Thanks @Wenbare Hoping I cna get it to stay and not chip. But I have a plan if this doesnt work!

You’ve got this, @jeanneL! I’m sure it’ll hold up, and even if it doesn’t, I know your backup plan will look just as amazing.

I just LOVE your new colors. I would’t worry about clearcoating anything. This furniture is not going to be for daily use. It will never even be touched once the build is done. It’s up to you…but as a furniture finisher as well, I can tell you that if your base coat doesn’t stick, it’s not going to. If it DOES chip off then you have a touch up spot that is unsealed. Just my opinion.

I appreciate this! I just want to do whats best. I dont usually paint plastic so want to do it correctly! Thanks my friend,

You’re welcome. As long as you lightly sand the plastic first, you shouldn’t have problems at all.

Wow! The little furnitures look realistic @jeanneL I have no experience painting any of my builds yet, so I can’t really give any advise. But it’s looking great.

Thank you @Jill_Francisco
I was kind of experimenting with color and figured I had nothing to loose!

Oh that’s quick! It looks really good!

I don’t know much about painting but I think you did a great job and the colours match well! That’s what I envisioned a holiday lodge to look like lol. I don’t think I want to be hiking up to a ski lodge for a bright pink couch hahahaha.

Plastic doesn’t take color so I think you should find a more suitable paint color. Besides using felt as pillow covers is a good idea. This Rolife kit makes them look stiff, the chair and bed are not soft
