🎁 Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Giveaway Round 1-Our community, embracing the world

I grew up in the very small town of Charleroi. I lived at home during college and did not have a drivers license nor the ability to purchase a car. I rode the bus daily to “the big city” of Pittsburgh to my school. It was almost two hours one way! My family rarely travels outside of their local area so me traveling to Pittsburgh was a big deal to them. After graduating the ride to school turned into the ride to work as I got a job in downtown Pittsburgh. I spent four hours of my day on the bus. We drove through a cute town that I would fantasize about living in with a husband and children (I was young and single). The town wasn’t really far from my home but it was closer to work. I ended up living in many different apartments over the next handful of years. None of which were in my fantasy town. I ended up meeting a man and soon we were going to be married! We began to look for a home to purchase. He sent me a listing of a cute house and it was in my fantasy town! He never knew of my past daydreams about living in this town. We ended up purchasing the home and I have now happily lived in my fantasy town for over twenty years.

I grew up in Illinois and now I live in Ephrata,PA.

After a long journey in the military. I have a family of my own and great friends to share life. They all love seeing the cool mechanical models I build from Robotime.

I’m from Brisbane, Australia. I was born in New Zealand, Upperhut. My parents moved to NZ for a missions trip to start a youth group and tada, I decided to come, almost in the bath and a earthquake after. My sister was born in Australia, As was my mum (She was actually in cyclone tracy in Darwin, the year Santa never came)and my dad was born in United Kingdom in the sound of big ben. But we all live close together and we have family dinner every friday so the cousins can see each other. Brisbane is also know for Ludo studios who made the ICONIC Bluey!! Everyone comes from everywhere but seeing everyone light up their little part of the world is exciting

Regards,

My mother’s city. This is memories of summer holidays, fresh fruits, playing with cousins, losing at scrabble, playing all day and just having fun being a child.

So i have 2 cities. Where i grew up, Sydney Australia and now my home Auckland, New Zealand. I love both cities equally but i call nz home now. I love the relaxed vibe and the fact that every thing is so close! I love doing rokr and robotime puzzles because it brings out my creativity and brings me joy to see them on my bookshelf. I can’t wait to start my next one!

For my city I would love to see either the Sydney Harbour Bridge or even the opera house. I think those would be awesome to build. For my current city maybe the sky tower or even something kiwiana themed. That would be great too. Maybe a tui bird in flight. That would be awesome.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

That is the cutest story about moving to your fantasy town.

Welcome fellow Queenslander. I love the idea of Bluey’s house.

Though I’ve lived in many cities, London Ontario has always been my home. I’ve lived there in different stages of my life, each of which hold special memories. From being a kid and going to Wally World, to a teenager coming back to visit my friends and going to the mall to now being an adult and visiting my favourite plant based ice cream store. The city has grown incredibly since I lived there as a young child and it takes a lot longer to visit but it holds such special memories from different parts of my life.

@Melinda welcome to the community ! Thats a great post ! :blossom::cherry_blossom:

That’s such a warm way to describe Adelaide. I love how you captured its charm as a small but beautiful city—it really does have that balance of being lively yet not overwhelming.

It feels like you’ve truly embraced the rhythm of French countryside living.

That’s such a lovely way to share your story. It feels like you carry the sweetness of Ipoh with you, even as life has shifted to a busier city.

That’s such a wonderful memory to share! Marina Bay Sands is already iconic, but tying it to that Valentine’s Day in 2023 makes it even more special. I visited Singapore back in 2009, and Marina Bay Sands truly left me in awe.

That’s actually a fantastic little story—it shows both your love for your city and your playful side.

My fathers family is from the tiny country just below! I think it would be my great grandparents. I was given the opportunity to become a citizen but did not. My cousin did though. I visited the areas around back in the 80s for my honeymoon. Unfortunately will probably not return. But I loved the beauty and the history to be seen there!

Your AI kit actually looks fun and would be an interesting build! almost a town like the vienna bookstore and coffee cart!

I’m lucky to live very close to my immediate family…all except for my son who was recently married and is attending Ohio State University. Robotime miniatures have not only given me a way to fill my hours since he left, but they’ve also ignited a new passion! My friends and family say I’m obsessed. I think they may be right!

I live I in a rural town not a city. I love living in a rural community you know who lives around you. You get to know their likes and dislikes. I love to garden and I have room to do that. My Mom and sister live in Syracuse, IN not New York, I lived there for 30+ years and gave it up to live on a small lake away from the crowds of summer, which Syracuse has in the summers. I don’t miss it at all. I love my neighbors, and the close community we have.
