Beautiful Sooke, BC, located on Vancouver Island, Canada
, experienced its 2nd Robotime DIY & Crafting Club Meet Up on July 18, 2026.
It was a sunny

The atmosphere turned energetic as people started arriving and recognized others from the initial meetup and new people arrived looking at the kits in amazement. There was a good mix of kits of various difficulty levels consisting of 2 trucks, Leo’s Coffee Truck and Beverly’s Ice Cream Truck to the Slow Life Cafe and Effiel Tower and 2 easier kits consisting of Flavorful Ice Cream and Cookii Bunny’s Cookie Shop. As the children arrived, they each picked a number that would determine what kit they would receive, favoring a pick between the Flavorful Ice Cream and Cookie Bunny’s Cookie Shop that were more appropriate to their age making it more enjoyable for them. Once the children had their kits, everyone else got to select a number and there was a lot of anticipation wondering what kit they were to receive. After all the kits were handed out, people got a chance to trade leading to some excitement and bartering as to whether they would get the kit they wanted.![]()
The group was then led into an introduction announcing Robotime’s generosity in sponsoring the entire event, from the venue to the refreshments and snacks, to of course, the kits and Blind Boxes they provided. The participants thanked Robotime as they appreciated the opportunity to test their skill level and enjoy an unique event in a social setting. The event moved on to the history of Robotime and the sub brands ending with group introductions. The first Blind Box was handed out to the person that had a birthday closest to the event day.
Then it was time to start building!
As the day progressed, the noise level grew with people helping others with their kit that they had experience with or was working on the same one. Parents helped their child/children with their kits and it was heartwarming to see the bonding. 2 additional Blind Boxes were given away via finding a sticker in the Crafting Magazine
and being the lucky person to draw a Joker out of a group of cards.
The games were simple and quick as everyone was knee deep into building their kit and didn’t want to stop their progress.
A notable highlight was when 8 year old James won a Blind Box and offered it to another participant. He did not ask nor want anything in return and it was so sweet to see. ![]()
Before you knew it, the day came to a close. We took a group photo and everyone left in an upbeat, relaxed mood stating the event was a lot of fun and asking when the next meet up was going to be. Stay tuned for the next one!
