[Help] Attention Edge colour'ers - whats your preference

Hi all,

Currently I use waterbased acrylic paint pens for edge colouring, although I do have my metalic Posca pens which I believe are alcohol based.

I am curious what you prefer and why, especially is you have used both water based and alcohol based pens.

Acrylic markers here as well. I have also used the liquid ones. Apple Barrel from Walmart, cheap but works well!

Oh man @Cozy.little.palette would be an expert at this lol. I use a combination of only acrylic markers but brands are varied. I have my latest sharpie acrylics that o favor, some Posca pens, Ohuhu and hobby lobby brand for hard to find colors. I also have a spray gun to use on wide areas as well.

Great question @chamelionboy . I tend to use acrylic marker in both normal colours and metallic. I love metallic colours because they give a really good coverage.

I haven’t used any markers yet on the woods. I used acrylic paint to color the edge since I’m afraid that markers will bleed.

I use acrylic paint pens or Actual acrylic paint

I can confirm that waterbase acrylic markers do not bleed, however alcohol based ones may depending on the wood.

I prefer acrylic pens, specially with a brush tip. I wish that Posca would get a new collection with fine brush tips. I’m not a big fan of the ones they have now.

That’s a great question!

Oh thanks for that useful info. I might try the waterbase acrylic markers if I’m able to buy them soon.

I use various brands of acrylic paint markers but if the edge is a lighter color of natural wood and the front is a darker natural wood color I’ll use a brown alcohol marker to give it a stained look to match

I rarely color the edges of my builds but when I do, I use acrylic markers. I usually just use colored pencils to touch up the natural edges of the wood.
