I use mainly Apple Barrel acrylics from Walmart for my models. Since I’ve painted over 100 of them, I’ve not been a fan of the markers much. If you run out (because they don’t last long), you have to buy a whole new set. I have probably six sets of markers that I only use VERY rarely for super fine details. Out of them, my favorite brand is probably King Art…also from Walmart. People swear by Posca…but they are pricey. Wishing you the best on your upcoming projects.

I’m using Art Rangers acrylic paint on my kits. 
I’m not a fan of markers since they dried out fast but I think Posca markers are good one and Sharpie though I think they’re pricey but have nice quality.

That’s a great question. I’m also interested in learning about the colors people use. I’ve bought some colors but the quality isn’t very good.

Great questions. I recently bought some more paint because my metallic marker is not enough for me to complete the build. Marker is only suitable for small areas. Mine doesn’t have a particular brand. I just got it from Amazon. Just the cheapest I could find. But some of the colour doesn’t give good coverage. But the metallic colours are really nice and have good coverage. I tend to experimenting with different one to see what work best for me.

I use acrylic paint with a brush for the big parts. I use acrylic paint markers (same as @Jerry_Boswijk) for edges and little parts. This is my creation of the magic piano

Paint wise I like using Reeves or Semco acrylics for large surface areas. 
For edges and smaller areas, I use the same markers as others. Got them from Ali Express. I also have an Anko set from Kmart and they are pretty good for the price point.
I’m not based in the US so Nita’s answer is probably the most helpful to you.

My favorite acrylic paint markers are the Infiart brand on Amazon. I get the type with the brush tip. They are fantastic for painting edges and small items. For larger items I just use the cheap brand of acrylic bottles at Walmart.

I have a few different things. I have the acrylic paint bottles by Apple Barrel. I then have acrylic paint markers which I got off Amazon. by Tanmit. These are ok but it is in a case of 124. My black and white are about done for. so I ordered a few from Posca. Will report on how those are.
