👍 [Rolife DIY & Creativity] Testing acrylics

I wanted to try out these acrylic markers and paint that I have. Both are from the same company. I am not an expert. I’m just experimenting with new materials.

The acrylic markers are very interesting to me. I love the bright colors that come in this set.

The acrylic markers have much better coverage then alcohol markers. They look more like paint. Alcohol markers look more like dye.

The acrylic markers even covered the darker edges well.

The only downside is you have to pump them and aren’t good for coving large areas.

Next is the more traditional acrylic paint tubes.

Regular acrylic paint on wood and paper. The regular paint is slightly less pigmented than the markers. I’m surprised by that.

It has very good coverage. One tiny drop can spread over a large surface.

This is a great experiment! The color coverage looks fantastic, and your comparison is super helpful. Acrylic markers really do shine on edges and details.

Thanks for sharing this. I think I will try buying some acrylic markers and paint soon because I want to try my hands painting on some of my plain builds.

The markers are easier to control too. When I try to use paint it ends up on the front part.

The markers are great for edges.

So do you prefer markers or paint.

I like using markers for the edges and paint for larger areas.

At least these markers. Other markets might be better.

I really need to get some markers because I’m not a fan of painting edges.

But the good ones can be quite expensive and I’m worried I’ll go through them too quickly lol.

I’ve been nervous about investing too much too quickly also. I got this set for 5$. That amount is manageable for me. It can add up fast if you want a lot of colors to choose from.

Good to know.

Great experiment. In my opinion, markers are good for edges, but not all markers offer the same coverage. I buy slightly more expensive paint, which provides better coverage. The corners of the edges are sometimes difficult to reach with markers if the tip is too thick.

Those are all really valid points.

When you are new to a craft you always want to go cheep and that ends up being the most common mistake.

Some of my markers I have to do a few coats to fully cover the edges. But I found the metallic has got great coverage.
