Just two weeks ago, I successfully hosted my very first meetup. Yesterday, I was thrilled to attend Miriam’s workshop completely stress-free, purely as a creator! Her meetup was a massive success, bringing together nearly 50 people. By the time I arrived, @Orangesareus had already set up almost everything beautifully, and I only lent a small helping hand, quietly admiring her incredible organizational skills.
First of all, I have to praise the venue! The space was absolutely beautiful, clean, and styled in incredibly comfortable colors. Best of all, it had so many large windows that filled the room with gorgeous natural light. Even with 50 people, sharing a table of four felt perfectly spacious. It was such a fascinating atmosphere—despite the large crowd, the happy laughter, and the lively chatting, the moment everyone started crafting, the entire room fell into a beautiful, hyper-focused silence. That balance between high energy and peaceful focus was truly magical and therapeutic.
This time, I brought a few close friends and my husband along. It was actually the first time my husband and these friends had ever attended a miniature workshop. They all had an absolute blast! Some were complete beginners, while others had built kits before, but none of them had ever experienced crafting alongside so many people. Everyone kept saying how happy they were. Chatting, laughing, and sharing potato chips made the hours fly by. Although we didn’t manage to finish everything on-site, everyone left so excited to finish their pieces at home and share their final work in our group chat.
What made it even better was connecting with new friends. Many people brought their own friends along, which perfectly embodies what Robotime always says: in the world of crafting, we effortlessly connect with different people and share our passions. I had previously heard about people using miniature hammers for building, and @Orangesareus thoughtfully brought a few for us to try. They were incredibly helpful! I even proudly promised everyone at my table, “Leave it to me! I’ll find where to buy them online and place a bulk order for all of us! 
”
Our table happened to already have a few Super Creator series models set up with their wires pre-connected. Since I happened to bring a portable battery with me, I used it to host a simple yet grand “lighting ceremony”! When the surrounding participants saw the kits light up, everyone went, “Wow, it looks so beautiful when it’s lit!” It really was incredibly stunning and rewarding to see.
Time passed so quickly, and everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Even during dinner afterward, we couldn’t stop excitedly discussing how much fun it was and how different it feels to build together versus building alone at home. Crafting by yourself is a peaceful, solitary joy, but crafting in a group turns that passion into an experience filled with companionship and shared energy. It made me realize that this hobby is wonderful whether you do it alone or with a huge crowd.
For me personally, this meetup held an even deeper meaning. Having just hosted my own event, I am constantly reviewing what I can do better next time. So yesterday, beyond just enjoying the crafts, I felt like an “apprentice organizer” taking notes. I learned so much from @Orangesareus —from managing a large-scale crowd and effectively gathering feedback, to filming great videos, presenting the activities, and even guiding people on how to take the best photos. I walked away with so many valuable insights.
A huge thank you to @Robotime and to @Orangesareus for giving us such a wonderful opportunity to experience different workshops, meet amazing new people, and share our mutual love for crafting.
