I was going to edge colour, but there is fine engraving on the decks so that rules out acrylic paints. I tested testing my alcohol markers on scrap, and there there is too much bleeding into the wood, and even testing light colours on the surfaces of the pieces, it covers too much of the engraving, so I am leaving this one unpainted. I do like the exposed wood, and much of the model is covered anyway.
9 pages of map style instructions in A2 size so space is at a premium on my workspace.
@chamelionboy That natural wood look is going to look stunning with all those detailed engravings! Leaving it natural really lets the intricate laser work shine, and it saves you the headache of bleeding markers. Can’t wait to see the more progress
Thankfully I have a heap of boat building equipment that I had purchased even though I never finished my first sailboat. It’s in the cupboard. I will get back to it one day.
You are so lucky to have such a good workstation too and the tools to make them more easily. The cats around the house are so playful and having zoomies all the time and knocking down anything they pass on. I can’t set up a workstation and been using the bed to create my kits
Surprisingly there are only 7 wooden boards, 4 normal size and 3 half size, but there are about 20 or more special papers with the more delicate parts.
Oh I couldn’t do that. I need to have a proper ergonomic chair to sit in as I have deterioration in both my upper and lower back so it gets so crazy if I’m not sitting properly.
