Got an issue with my build wherein upon installing the rubber belt (connecting the main gears with the upper conveyor mechanism), the motor seems to sound a bit overloaded.
The motor creates a continuous tick sound (every sec). I rewaxed everything and still the same. The plastic conveyor on the top is moving very smoothly. It seems the belt pulling the driving gear upwards is causing this issue. Dunno.
Anyways, did anybody experienced the same issue and mind sharing what was the repair done.
I have seen this issue a couple of times with other people and their build. It could be that your screw is too tight on the Belt that holds the two together and another person experienced a bad motor. Other than that, as Alanah mentioned, could the noise be coming from something clicking not actually the motor
Welcome to the community. Sorry I can’t help you with this build as I haven’t build it yet. I’m sure someone on here will be able to help you. Otherwise @CustomerService is also very helpful.
Sounds like you have definitely found where the issue is, i didn’t seem to have that occur so I’m probably not much help I’m sorry, hopefully what @Nita_Davis suggested works or @CustomerService can help you asap!
I never test stuff until the instructions tell me to. You are probably stressing the motor or could be turning it in the wrong direction. Trust the process as the instructions say. I had zero problems with this model besides getting on one exterior wall beacuse I had painted everything. ROKR Dream Gift Factory
i was actually testing the movement while it was not connected to the motor by belt.
I do the test quite often since my 2 kids are quite excited with the build.
I am planning on performing more tests tonight and tomorrow and hopefully can resolve the issue.
Hopefully it will not lead to dismantling everything
I actually hope so too. I am a bit confused because you said there was a clicking noise in the motor. I can understand why if you were doing something manually…why the motor would be running?
This issue is caused by excessive friction, which leads to jamming and motor overload. The noise you hear is the gears rubbing inside the motor. We recommend lubricating the other moving parts with wax first to ensure they run smoothly, and then reconnect the motor for testing.
If it keeps happening post a video so we can see and hear what is going on. I would suggest sanding and waxing all moving parts. Also make sure the brown plastic parts at the top that turn the belt are well pressed together as i had that issue when it wasn’t working correctly.
Really appreciate the support from everyone from this community.
Here is an update, I dismantled everything (literally everything), sanded, rewaxed, and sadly still got the issue when attaching the belt.
The issue sort of changed from the tick sound to just purely getting stuck from time to time. I now prefer the tick sound as everything still moves. LOL
