[DIY & Creativity] SAMS STUDY blasted chandelier

To save myself further mental anguish I may forgo the chandelier and go with a single hung light. I managed to get one light correct but had to use electrical tape as that shrink stuff is just annoying!
I’m good with wire working so I’ll see what I come up with. Maybe some crystals to shimmer when my one precious bulb is lit.

Or I throw in the towel and buy a pre wired doll house chandelier :joy:

You’re good with wire working so I think you can do.

I am so scared of that shrink stuff. I keep thinking it is going to overheat the wires and or globe and damage them.

Hope you get it all working. I’ve bought extra lights and power packs off of Amazon so if I want to add an extra light or if one isn’t working I can change it out. They are not very expensive. Good luck @kialo

I’m not sure which kit you’re taking about..,Sam’s study maybe? Hope you get it figured out. I love using heat shrink tubing…much easier than using the tape, plus it holds the wires better.

I’m sorry your build isn’t going smoothly. I’m sure whatever you choose to do will look great in the end.

I have barely done wire working so…

Hope you’ll figure it out soon.

I like the shrink tube but sometimes it doesn’t work too well

I’ve already purchased prewired chandeliers for some of my builds coming up lol
I call it a customisation rather than being a chicken and not wanting to make it!

Building those tiny chandeliers can certainly be a test of patience, but your idea to use your wire working skills sounds like a wonderful solution. Adding crystals to catch the light from your single bulb will give the room such a unique and personal glow. We cannot wait to see how your customized lighting turns out!

Personally I love shrinking tubes Because they seem to work well for me. It’s just important to pick the right size. Not too big for just 2 wires. When you have the right size, you can shrink it in a very short time and it will hold really well.

I have just used tape with my book nook and it worked as well for me, but I felt I could not apply it as tight as I wanted around the wires since i needed an extra hand for that

It’s even more impressive that you managed to do it yourself, keep it up!

What kit are you making? Maybe we can help?

That chandelier is really putting you through it :see_no_evil_monkey:. Honestly, your idea sounds lovely though, and I’m sure whatever you come up with will look beautiful, especially with those little crystals catching the light.

I use shrinking tubes for light wiring and they work great for me. And like Jerry said, if you tell us which kit it is, maybe we can help a bit more.

I hope you’ll fix the issues on the wiring. Sometimes, you’ll get annoyed on the kit.

I should have added that but I tagged it as Sam’s Study.

I went my own way because after input it together I didn’t like the style.

I am getting better with wiring. I am ok with heat shrink, but prefer tape. Hoping you figure it out to work for you
