[DIY & Creativity] Painting miniatures and creating my own ideas

I finally had some time to build last week. I made my own crate to go on top of the vehicle filled with old jerrycans. I tried making the wood look a bit weathered. I also painted my first miniature figure. I made the mistake of gluing it together before painting it wich made it really difficult to paint but i got there. Thinking of doing a oil wash over it to make it looks older. What you think @JDisaduck i promissed i would tag you in my posts haha

You’ve got me thinking now about ways to age things. I wonder if applying crackle medium over the top to bring through the colour underneath, and then sanding it back once it’s crackled would work?
I’m not 100% in whether that would work but I’d like to try it myself.
Also, I think you are doing such an amazing job on this build project. I look forward to your posts so I can catch up.

I’m not too sure what an oil wash does so sorry I’m no help but I think the figurine looks really good too! What did you paint it with?

I think you’re getting really good at making lifelike dioramas I’m so excited to follow!

Im not sure what crackle medium is so not sure if i can help. Do you have a example? Else i would say just try it. Im also experementing a lot and asking for tips in fb groups and watch things on youtube. There is also a app called patreon where expert builders sell tutorials and 3d print files from builds they make. I plan on doing that for my future builds.

Oils washes is oil paint with thinner added. It gets in the crackes and helps to age vehilces and wood.
