[DIY & Creativity] My art gallery

I thought It was gonna be original and new but soon afterwords found many had the same idea. But I still love the way it came out. I used Minibrands Masterpieces art works for the paintings and statue of David. I ordered a standard box from amazon, added wallpaper and hard wood flooring. The stanchions are wood dowels on top of buttons with the rope is standard cord with bead caps and screws. The stanchions are painted an antique bronze color. The pedestal I made with just a balsa wood dowel and rounded wood top also painted antique bronze. The cushions were hand made and buttons were sewed on by my beautiful wife. The lights add a nice depth I think to the atmosphere. I painted the box in black and the front in gold. It’s my spin on this and I love the work it took to get this done. Enjoy!

I’m totally stealing your technique to make those stanchions! I was planning to make one for one of my kits and wasn’t sure how to go about it. This looks so nice! I love the lighting in this! It gives it a fun twist away from the usual art gallery lighting that we see. :star_struck:

I really like this. I started working on an art gallery diorama display using cheap room boxes put together. I’m having trouble getting it all together in my head. It sits looking at me from across the room saying ‘do something lazy bones’!

Thank you ! I know that stare.. it mocks you and makes fun of you.. speaks in languages only you can understand… I mean I’ve heard…

It does. The little mocking voice from across the room is relentless. I have to block it out while I go looking for my muse

Grey74, this is such a classy little gallery. The antique bronze stanchions, gold front, and those lights adding depth make the whole display feel ready for opening night, and your wife’s hand sewn cushions are such a sweet touch. You absolutely made this idea your own, and it looks fantastic!

You are extremely creative. I do not know that I could create an entire room. I am far better at changing up or improving upon a room but I think that may be it!

@jeanneL that is so very kind of you. Thank you. I have never considered myself creative at all, so that means a lot. Thank you.
