I love to insert my teddy bear (in subtle and not-so-subtle ways) into my builds when I can - so I made the fantastic kit Beverly’s Ice Cream truck into Parker’s Ice Cream truck!
Other than the signs, my one big change was creating a more “3D” and realistic mound of ice cream on the cone. I did this with lightweight spackling compound - mixed in a little magenta paint to make it pink and then put it into a piping bag and made the “soft serve.” I let it dry for 24 hours and then added faux polymer clay sprinkles and some glitter!
What a fun build! Perfect for that bear in your life who loves ice cream!
This is absolutely adorable! I love how you personalized the build and made it truly your own. Renaming it to Parker’s Ice Cream Truck makes it feel so much more special and full of personality.
The pink ice cream upgrade is brilliant! Honestly, if you hadn’t explained how you made it, I would have thought it came with the kit. The texture, sprinkles, and glitter make it look so realistic and delicious.
I also love the idea of including your teddy bear in your builds. It adds a sweet story behind each project and makes your collection uniquely yours. Those little personal touches are often my favorite part of seeing other people’s creations.
And now you’ve made me want ice cream! Beautiful work, and thank you for sharing such a fun and creative customization.
Thanks so much! I had learned the spackling compound technique when I was making sweet-themed ornaments for my pink Christmas tree last year and it’s super fun (although extremely messy ).
I appreciate your kind comment so much - thank you!
You’re very welcome! Now I’m even more impressed because that ice cream looked incredibly realistic.
I love hearing the story behind techniques like that. It’s amazing how skills from one creative project end up inspiring another. A pink Christmas tree decorated with handmade sweet-themed ornaments sounds absolutely adorable! And yes, I’ve noticed that the most fun crafting techniques are usually the messiest ones. Sometimes the workspace ends up looking like a tiny craft tornado came through, but the results are worth it. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. I always enjoy seeing the little personal touches and stories behind your builds.
@NoodleSalad Parker’s Ice Cream Truck is such a joyful transformation. The spackling-compound soft serve with sprinkles and glitter is a brilliant touch, and it makes the kit feel completely personal. We love seeing a favorite kit become part of your own little story.
