For this build, I made some major adjustments using color. What should be a 1 hour build turned into probably 6 or 7? I don’t really know. I also made some minor adjustments on the last part of the building steps. I wasn’t happy with the way the flowers covered up all of the cute things at the bottom (pic#2) and I didn’t like the way it protruded outward when adding part C4 as an option. I chose to add part B10 (normally used for a vase display). This did not fit in the proper direction I needed
it to go. In pic #3, you can see that I added part C4 in order to get proper orientation. I ended up having to sand it down quite a bit in order for it to fit into the slot because the wood was a bit thicker. I also ended up cutting off about 2/3 of that piece to bring the height to where I wanted it to be. It was worth the effort because I absolutely love how it all turned out. I hope you like it as well. The last photo is of the stock model. I also added some weight to the vase to keep it properly standing
Your orchid looks stunning @Nita_Davis
I love your custom color. And it’s clever that you thought of adding weight on it to keep it from falling. I’ll do the same when I make my flowers.
Thank you so sharing. I have a thought in mind to add a bit more details with colouring. As an orchid collector myself, I would like to paint more details on the orchid so it would stand out more. You did a great job painting and adjusting it. It’s so beautiful.
It looks absolutely beautiful! All the effort and extra time you put into the colors and adjustments really paid off—you gave it so much personality and warmth. I love how thoughtful you were with every detail, it truly shows in the final result.
Thanks so much @Jill_Francisco . I wish that I had thought of it before adding the cardboard around the edges, because I would have just super-glued pennies to the inside framing of the base. Now I have a bottle top filled with pennies taped on the bottom. Just food for thought when building yours. For my spring bouquet, I filled the wooden ‘vase’ with pennies. Those flowers can become very top-heavy.
