The journey to making an orchid

This is how you turn a 1 hour model into a ten hour model. I’ve googled a ton of orchids…and I haven’t even started on the vase… lol!

Again your turning a good model in a perfect model. How do you put on the white? Do you use a sponge ?

I’m not sure if I will use the cardboard one yet. I may just stick it into one of my other wooden bouquets @Nectarines

Thank you @Jerry_Boswijk . Just a regular kitchen sponge. I cut off a 1inch by 2 inch piece. Get it wet with water and squeeze it all out to make it soft. I will wrap squeeze it one more time in a towel to make sure it doesn’t water down my paint. I put out a small amount of paint onto a piece of foil and dab a littte on. I then dab it onto the piece of foil to remove any excess paint and just lightly dabbed the edges with white

Ah yes, good plan! Mine are going into the carboard until i get a few more and then i will change it up a bit i think :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I think it is because of your beautiful painting that adds the time. But when making something such as this, I think it is important. Why not soend more time and make it gorgeous! Well done thus far!

You’re welcome @Jerry_Boswijk . It’s really not that hard to do. I always practice somewhere before putting it on my model. I hope you can find somewhere to use this technique
