OMG I am done and it works! even cuckoo comes out. ( a few minutes early but I will adjust that)
What I did learn is that I like that Rolife pictures the parts when gathering so easy to match. ROKR is a little more challenging.
Tips:
-I almost missed some changes with wiring but was able to go back and correct.
-Some of the wood is a bit fragile. I didnt really use any glue, mostly snap and easier to break.
-Your fingers will be sore from pushing these wood pins through. Use the tool on J board - it helps!
-B16 pieces break easy when snapping them on. Be careful.
-pg 32 part B9, be sure to pay attention when putting it on. Easy to put upside down! I did not discover until I went to put little roof on and it wouldnt fit. I discovered I did it wrong. I was able to fix without too much trouble!
-pg35 ladder, H35 is extremely fragile and will easily break when snapping rungs on.
@Tricia12
Take your time. I think overall it went together well. There were a couple times where I was a little nervous placing things to snap in. I went slower and was careful. Minimal errors and breakage. All were fixed.
@TheToday Thanks! This is my first mechanical build. It really went together well. I paid close attention to every picture and was able to make corrections.
I see you started the factory. Good news is several on here have done that so should be able to help along the way. I did not attempt that one yet!
You did a wonderful job! It looks amazing. What a feeling of accomplishment!
I’m not at home to see which parts you are speaking of but if you are ever struggling to get a part in (to the point that you might break it), stop. Sand and wax the tabs for easier placement. I did use glue on mine…I couldn’t get all those roof pieces aligned into the fascia piece at one time and have them stay in place…I glued them all from the underside
This looks amazing — huge congratulations @jeanneL!! It’s such a great feeling when everything works, especially the cuckoo. Loved reading your tips too, they’ll be super helpful. You did an incredible job and the final result is fantastic!
This is stunning, well done! I think im going to get this kit for my mother in law for christmas. She used to do puzzles a lot so i think she might enjoy putting this together, she also collects different clocks so this will suit her well! I will be bookmarking your post for all of these tips!
