It finally arrived!!!
My first thought was “This is the biggest box yet.” I don’t know if there is any other kit with such a big box, but for me it was a first XD
I immediately got to work, checking the pieces against the booklet, and then set up my workspace. Which is the ground, and my carpet. Pieces can’t fall if they’re already on the ground, and I got all the space in the room!
I didn’t take pictures of all my assembling, I took pictures whenever I took breaks.
Making the keyboard was easy enough. I also got old tools from other kits which I keep when they’re particularly useful, and all the wax leftovers too.
The little bell sound is sooo pleasant!
Also the letter wires were finicky. I had to get a jewelry plier to bend them closed to make sure they stayed on the letter bars, and also didn’t nudge against one another.
Next morning and we are back at it, with the roller this time!
That’s when the little hammer I got in another kit got useful, I had a really hard time pushing the pieces that went in the roller (I was super careful about the notches but they were aligned, it was just a really tight fit) so I took one of the old little measuring tool and set it against the piece, then gently hit the tool with a hammer. Controlled force did what my poor fingers couldn’t XD
After that it was a walk in the park to finish, and tada!!!
I’m so happy, it’s truly a gorgeous kit, as a decoration piece, but the fact that it writes really is the cherry on top. I tested it on some normal paper first, I’m keeping the fancy one of the box for some nice letter I’ll write!
Hope you all have an amazing day, I’mma return to typing things while listening to a vinyl on the gramophone! ![]()
