[Challenge & Achievement] (Non-Rolife) The saga of the sunflowers

Let me tell you a story about the sweetest looking sunflowers ever.
I fell in love with them and they didn’t cost a lot on Temu.
I was going to build them for the Mother’s Day stall (that never went ahead).
I pulled them out and went to build them. A quick build I thought.
I needed a LOT of wax.
Then I got to the big sunflower. I have to say that instructions weren’t very clear and the process of putting the double petals on confused me no end.
They wouldn’t stay on either.
I put it down and walked away from it for a couple of weeks.
I picked it up again a few nights ago and finished it. I had one break on the stem but glued it back together.

I put it in my bookcase with my other builds because it really is a cute build, even if it tends to be a bit top heavy.
Fast forward to yesterday morning when I went to my front room and noticed that the flowers had been moved and were in several pieces!!
One flower head was missing entirely.
I raised the question with my future son-in-law and he said “Oh, I forgot to tell you”.
My husband said that he should have blamed the cat!!
So I have a mending project to do.
Enjoy a picture of it looking as it should.

@Suzanne_Jones they look very pretty! Can’t see a breakage at all. Sorry that happened to your hard work. I’m sure it was disheartening. You can fix this I believe in ya!

I’m not overly worried. It was an accident and it can be repaired. He’s a good kid but a bit clumsy and bumped the bookcase.

Thanks so much @Alicesharpe. I appreciate your kind words.

Thanks heaps. Oh well, it will be a repair job but not a hard one. It was an accident and accidents happen.

That’s who my husband said to blame. My cat doesn’t climb furniture. Ha ha

Oh they look so cute Sue! They remind me of flowers in cute video games! :pink_heart:

Sorry to hear about your wounded flower. Maybe your future son-in-law can give you a hand with the mending. :see_no_evil_monkey:

Awww…So sorry to hear this Sue. I am sure that you can fix it up perfectly. When I did my spring bouquet, I filled the cardboard ‘vase’ with pennies. I think I’ve done that on a few of my flowers. I hope that is helpful for future builds. It looks lovely in its original state.
