[Challenge & Achievement] Five-storied Pagoda 3.0

Hi!

This kit is stressing me out, haha.

Kits usually relax me, but this one doesn’t. I want the pagoda assembled so I can display it when I move with all my Japanese stuff.

The problem is that the wood in this kit is very, very fragile.

And I don’t know about you, but fitting these pieces together, which look like railings, is stressful.

You have to press the pieces inwards and then downwards.

It makes the wood move; it feels like it’s going to break.

From pressing it so hard, one of them cracked a little. I won’t tell you which one, haha, you can’t even tell.

Did you have the same problem with these mini fences?

This little railings were indeed not the easiest to build. I think I recommended sanding and even waxing a bit in one of your previous posts about this.

With this delicate wood, you really need to be careful, and building might go slower because of it.

Luckily most of it is forgiving as well. I know I cracked a little thing on this kit as well, and just pulling it back into place has fixed it. No glue needed. The crack is still there, but it is not visible at all

Indeed. The kit looks fragile.

Haha…Since you have started building this, it is making you stressful instead of relaxing you, be calm friend

I should have waxed them, I completely agree, because they’re so difficult to fit together.

I’m careful, but as soon as I press them, they break.

It is! I didn’t expect it to be so much.

Yes, yes, because it’s the kit with the most broken pieces and I’m only halfway through.

I haven’t assembled them yet, but they seem quite fragile.

Hahaha, I don’t think these fine wood kits are for me; I prefer the ones I’ve been assembling until now.

I try to avoid thin kits like this

I understand, it’s not my style either.

From this view, the wood pieces does look abit thin. But you have made really good progress there.

You will get this done. Take a break and walk away if you need to.

I actually liked this build.. I didn’t have too many problems except for the parts not staying in place so I used a bit of glue just to keep the pieces in place.

The pieces do look fragile. A little sanding and waxing might help but it would definitely take a bit of your time.

Thanks! Yes, I’ll stop using it; I’ve had this kit for a while now.
