[Challenge & Achievement] Five-storied Pagoda 4.0

Hi!

Day 300, still working on the pagoda.

Never in my life have I progressed so slowly with a kit that is also small and only takes a few hours.

Of course, right from the start I’ve broken another piece, and there’s no replacement for it.

It’s the corner piece you can see; it broke when I tried to fit it together.

I love this kit, it’s Japanese, but it might be so delicate, so I’m being very careful!

I tried to glue it with the only glue I have at home, which I bought recently.

It works on many materials, but of course it doesn’t stick well; it’s more plasticky, and the piece doesn’t stay put.

It’s a shame I never receive the kits with the 7000 glue—it must be excellent—since they send them without it, supposedly due to customs.

So sorry @Sasa I know it can be super frustrating when these things derail you. Just keep moving. Take each step as a lesson. You got this. Teach that kit who’s boss and kick it’s proverbial heinie

Yes i know i had the same problem the pieces are very fragile. I found the best glue so far for me is loctite. Hope you have better luck with the rest of the build

Since I did not have any glue on t home either, I just searched online for B7000 glue and ordered it. I could have it delivered by a webshop in Belgium/The Netherlands within 2 days. You might just be able to get it in Spain as well.

Awww that’s yoo bad about the broken piece. :sob: Hope you can find a better solution to fix it. Personally, I’d use wood glue then forget about it so that the glue has time to dry completely. I’m usually very impatient so I need to “forget” that I’m waiting for something to dry haha.

I’m also a but worried about this lind of problem that’s why I haven’t started on my Pagoda yet. Btw, are you planning on painting it? The paint can hide the broken parts better, I think. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Even in the photos they look extremely fragile

@Sasa you been working so hard on this hun ! You will get there maybe try superglue a gel one maybe xx:cherry_blossom::blossom::cherry_blossom::blossom::blossom:

It’s okay, haha, I’m taking it with humor now.

I’m taking it one step at a time; I just stopped to work on another kit, and we’re taking turns.

Thanks!

Yes, they sell that one in Spain, but it dries really fast, and if it gets on surfaces or your hand, it’s a mess, haha. I’m such a disaster!

Yes, thank you very much. I was looking at it and they sell it on AliExpress or Temu.

I’ve already broken a lot of them; this kit is a bit of a disaster for me.
I didn’t expect to break so many, and I thought, well, the one I have at home will do… but it didn’t.

Let’s see how it goes when you start.

No, I didn’t paint it. I wanted it like this because, being a perfectionist, I’d get OCD if I saw any mistakes, haha.

True! hahaha, even in a photo it’s creepy to look at.

Yes, I should switch to a quick-drying one. But I’m afraid of getting it stuck to my fingers or falling on a surface, haha, it’s happened to me before.

Sorry to hear this. It is frustrating. Im kinda scared to do mine now. Lol
I’m sure you can overcome this! Im cheering for you!

Hahaha, don’t be afraid! Maybe you won’t break it.

There’s so much tiny pieces!!

Exactly, tiny and also finite

Hi @Sasa, your pagoda update made us smile, even with that fragile corner piece causing trouble. Taking it slowly and switching between kits sounds like the right way to protect all those delicate details. We are cheering for this careful comeback!

Sorry to hear about that. I’m getting ready to install it. Things seem a little worrying.

That is trusting when the parts broke. I tend to use superglue gel or B7000. it stick really well.
