So I’m left handed. The instructions on all kits regardless of who makes them are oriented for right handed people. (Like all things in life they are made for right handed people )I find myself every time having to adjust the instructions or the way I handle the parts to a left handed oriented fashion. Does anybody else have this issue? Not sure how Robotime could improve in this but it does cause some frustration on my end. Especially when putting together parts that are intricate and need to go a certain way. Just thought I would throw that out there while I lay here trying to go to sleep lol thanks everybody! Food for thought ![]()
Oh wow, you’re right, I’d never thought of that.
It’s good that you mentioned it; it must be complicated, honestly.
Sometimes i use my left hand while building but im right handed
but i think @Robotime should make a left handed version
That’s an interesting question and not one that I can ever remember thinking. To be honest, I wasn’t aware that there would be any difference in building.
That’s a very enlightening issue. I never thought of that. Hope @Robotime can provide a downloadable PDF for left-handed builders.
That is a very good question, I’m right handed so I did not think it would give issues for left handed people.
That is a very good question, I’m right handed so I think no problem
I’m used to it but but yesterday I was tired and got frustrated at a. Retain point and just stopped.
I haven’t notice much because I actually build with both hands. So I feel any challenges in that regard.
@Grey74 honestly i bever though about that
Im right handed ! ![]()

I should Probably give some examples lol
How would you hold these pieces when assembling them? For the first picture the 45 degree angle of the chimney on the bottom threw me for a loop in trying to handle the pieces to assemble them I had to switch it around so the bottom angled the other way for it to make sense to me
The second pic is showing the structure going to the right however when trying to put it together it made sense for me to turn it around and assemble it I guess if that helps a little? Kinda hard to describe it I guess
It is really a great question, I have never thought about it but also i am thinking that there would be any difference in the tutorial of DIY building ![]()
Ah! now I understand what you mean, yeah you have to hold everything in different way
@Grey74 this is a really thoughtful point to raise. Left-handed builders having to mentally flip steps or part handling is the kind of detail that is easy to miss until someone explains it clearly. Thank you for turning the frustration into useful food for thought.
@joy.licerio a downloadable left-handed guide is a thoughtful idea. Even if it started with a few tricky steps instead of a full version, it could make detailed assemblies feel less frustrating for left-handed builders.
I’d never thought of how the instructions were formatted would affect left-handed people. I hope Robotime will be able to find a solution for you.
Hope this can be available in the future! Thanks!
I never thought this can be a problem for left-handed people!! thank you for putting it out now maybe a solution will be made and crafting will be even easier for you and other people with disabilities ![]()
I, personally, don’t notice it. I am left handed, but I learned to adapt a long time ago. I made myself ambidextrous so I could write on the chalkboard (and I just aged myself). It came back to bite me in middle school. I broke my left wrist, so I wouldn’t do my classwork because I am, after all, left handed. Well, the teacher knew I could write with both hands and made me stay after school to catch up!![]()
Please don’t think I’m saying “suck it up”. I’m only saying that I’m fortunate that it doesn’t bother me.
My middle son has a hard time with the puzzles because he is left handed and ONLY left handed. So, if they could come up with a way to make the builds adaptable for everyone, that would be amazing!
That’s a perfect example!
