My son often asks me to gift him builds for Christmas and birthdays. I always bought him ROKR because he said that they were the best.
Last Christmas, my family gifted me with some Rolife builds that I flew through quickly.
My son doesn’t live with me but he tells me that he and his neurodivergent son work on builds together. He gifted his son the cuckoo clock for Christmas.
For myself, I have found enjoyment on working on my builds in the evening while my husband watches tv beside me. He always takes the time to look at what I’ve created and how I’ve changed things. He really is a support and encouragement. I know I make him out to be a bit of a ratbag but that’s the Australian way ha ha.
My husband is happy that the piece of mind building brings to me has made me less stressed and happier to be around.

I wish my younger son still enjoyed building. He is the one whose models I fell in love with. He has just moved on to other interests.
He may go back to it one day. He sounds like someone who enjoys creative pursuits.

Crafting miniature kits has become one of the most positive changes in our family life. What began as a simple activity has turned into meaningful, screen free time with my six year old daughter, where we slow down and build something together. She brings big imagination to tiny spaces, and I bring patience and tweezers, and somewhere between the glue mishaps and proud “we did it” moments, we have grown closer. It has given us shared goals, real conversations, and a quiet confidence in her that I love watching develop. In creating miniature worlds, we have strengthened something much bigger: our connection.
