One of my recent mistake is painting small part of unpainted wood hoping the color will be the same red shade as the original.
CLOWNERY ON ME
I dunno whether this gonna be a teaching moment for me because i fosuh gonna do dis again in near future

Sam’s Study. Seems everyone that tackles this has some trouble. Well while doing the last bookshelf I noticed something was amiss, sure enough I had mixed up some shelving with another bookcase that I’d done previously.
I had to meticulously pull apart the glued one so I could get the pieces correct. Sand them due to the mess and then paint.
The orange one and the tall yellow one one had to be disassembled and reassembled ![]()
My worst mistake was gluing the connection point when putting the conveyor belt together as intense adding the pieces and it comes apart. It dries hard and caused the belt to crack and break when in the rollers. I had to use felt tape (a tiny piece between the gear holes), which has occasionally been included in some builds I’ve done that have these belts, to repair I now always use felt tape (aka wiring harness tape for vehicles) to secure the connection points on the belts. Since it’s felt it stick well and is flexible so don’t interfere with the smooth rotation or the belts.
Oh goodness. Which model did this happen on @Katterman
Oh no! I could see how so many similar pieces could be confused with another piece. I’m glad you got it all worked out @kialo
Lol! Just paint the whole piece. Problem solved @Aiffah_Badron
I’m so sorry to hear that. Once those stickers go on, there is no taking them off
Bellissimo vero? Peccato che dopo due messi che l’ho completato ancora non riesco a farlo funzionare.
Yes I have Aiffah. I put the Fairytale Amusement park into a shadow box but it was the wrong kit to do it as it didn’t look that great.
Anche il mio non funziona… ma ho usato un anello di gomma della misura sbagliata fin da subito… e non c’è modo di ripararlo. È comunque bellissimo e dovresti esserne orgoglioso. Io sono molto orgoglioso del mio. ROKR Gramaphone final pics
Can you put something over the top of it? Or put a frame around it like it’s an art piece?
You made it work in the end and it looks great. But I can see just how frustrating it is to have to pull things apart and clean them up.
You will be glad when this build is finished.
If it makes you feel better, I accidentally squeezed super glue last night and filled in then space between the tip of my thumb and my nail. lol
I’ve been there, too. @Suzanne_Jones I actually finished the nook today…but I am NOT posting it while all of this SPAM is still here. Many people are not wanting to scroll through it to find a real post. I will wait.
I understand that completely. And the spam keeps on coming. ![]()
Yes, it does. Sadly many people don’t know that they can just scroll past it, find a REAL post, view it …and then hit “dismiss new”. Those people must have 1000 posts by now.
@Suzanne_Jones
That’s what I’ve been doing. I’m sure I’ve dismissed new posts so many times.
Oh lucky me I haven’t had any major unsalvageable mishaps so far in my building career.
I’ve broken far too many pieces to count but nothing a little super glue can’t fix or I’ll always find ways to hide the flawed pieces.
No photos included because I never take photos of my mishaps. I’ll rage! ![]()
The most unforgettable moment was when my Tips Restaurant miniature house accidentally slipped from my hands while I was moving it to its new spot, causing it to break. Right now, I’m still trying to fix it, but haven’t succeeded yet since I’m also busy building other kits.
