Update: Gingerbread House Kit and tips

Some updates on the Gingerbread House and interesting habits I do when building, besides sorting the pieces on the paper (which makes it more efficient in the long run, I think lol)…

I glue everything… most of the time, even when the kit clicks together. I found this glue container with a nice needle point tip.

I sand the sides of paper… okay even the tiny bits of paper, again maybe the OCD, I just like the items look smooth and nice.

This is a lot of fun, and I am almost done with it!

Will enjoy the journey as I go…

I started glueing things more after my doggos decided to knock down my little display area… The glue does wonders ahahaha, even after moving houses my kits are all intact.

It can feel so tedious lol but it makes it so much better and no random pieces sticking around…

Hahaha naw I think it’s a valid OCD I absolutely hate it when my things aren’t neat as well.

But omg I love the culprits! :pink_heart: They have a life time get out of jail free card!

Looking good  I personally don’t glue every piece but I agree that doing so would make the build sturdier.

Interesting habits you have, I guess we all have our own! We’re completely opposites regarding glue though. I kind of hate it and I only use it when there’s nothing else I can do (which mainly is when I accidentally break something), but what can I say? I’m not a huge fan of sticky things, specially sticky liquid things that get easily stuck to my fingertips and make them messy  but I guess yours is a nice way to prevent some delicate parts from separating from each other. I don’t think that’s gonna happen that easily, but I did find some parts here and there that needed glue or else they’d fall/separate by looking at them (f.e. the anchors of the Seahorse Barque, I’m sure @Jerry_Boswijk know what I’m talking about).

And about sanding the pieces… I’ve started doing it myself pretty recently

To be fair this time i also sand the thick paper parts to get the connection points off. And i also have a glue bottle but dont use it a lot. If it clicks tightly i dont glue it.

YES! those little tiny tabs from the thick paper must go… Some people in FB where very particular and was so shocked with my process lol :joy: Some people likes to do it very quick I guess :stuck_out_tongue:
