Well, the giant mechanical Christmas factory is officially complete. ![]()
Project 139, the ROKR Gift Factory Magic Amusement Park EAB01, ended up being one of those builds that was satisfying almost the entire way through because every section connected into something else mechanically. Watching the conveyors, wrapping areas, spinning tree, toy paths, lights, and motion systems all slowly come together into one giant animated scene was really rewarding.
Some of my favorite details ended up being the tiny elves peeking out from the second and third story windows, the neat chasing lights on the production sign, and the overall flow of the moving toy system through the factory. The rotating tree section especially became one of my favorite parts once everything was assembled and moving together.
I also spent a LOT of time edge painting and touching up exposed raw wood throughout the build. Anywhere it didn’t make sense visually to see unfinished wood, I tried to clean it up a little more, and I really think that extra work paid off in the final appearance.
The little fireplace side building also turned out much cuter than I expected, especially once the lighting was adjusted and the fire area was glowing properly. I even painted the inside surfaces of the fireplace doors before installing the clear plastic because you could really see through them once assembled.
Overall, this one was a really fun build with lots of movement, lots of personality, and so many satisfying mechanical moments along the way.
