I live in France and I love doing Rolife builds, as some of you will already know (duh, that’s why I’m part of this community ).
This weekend we were having friends over from The Netherlands and my friend knows I love those builds so she bought this lovely kit ‘Elsa’s Tailoring’ for me as a ‘thank you’ gift for staying with us.
(I blurred my friends because they are not part of this community and I find it more private for them to not be ‘exposed’ to public communities or publications. So don’t think I did it because they’re criminals ).
I’m going to adapt this kit. My mother in law was a coupeuse/tailor so I’m going to make this Co’s Atelier. I’m replacing the names on the front, but also on the back of the atelier. And I already changed a photo of her into a Victorian lady to change the photo on the back wall.
I really look forward to making this one, although I’m a disaster myself with anything that has to do with cloths, needles, threads, buttons, ribbons and all that stuff. I just manage to replace a button on a shirt when needed (with a lot of @&@&$## ) so I really am very curious myself how this build is going to end up.
My friend bought it at @Robotimenl , the Robotime shop in Arnhem, The Netherlands. And she told me about this shop so definitely I’m going to try and visit this shop when I’m going to the Netherlands, because our visit is always to Nijmegen, neighbour city of Arnhem.
This is incredibly sweet what a thoughtful gift from your friend!
And turning Elsa’s Tailoring into Co’s Atelier makes it even more meaningful~ those personal touches (like the photo and name changes) are what truly bring a build to life
If you do visit the Robotime Nederland shop one day, that would be such a fun stop!
Can’t wait to see how your custom version turns out
Your friend is so sweet and thoughtful. You’re lucky to have a supportive friend. Are you planning to give it to your mother in law or is she just your inspiration in customizing the kit?
She’s an inspiration and I like to do that for my husband, a remembrance of his mum. She died in 1993 already (at the age of 72), one year after my husband and I moved in with each other.
