Hi there!

Day five of construction… and the worst one yet. I had such a nasty shock, I almost cried…

I’ve spent another two hours on the kit today.

I didn’t take many photos because a lot of it involved mechanical work.

And since I waste a lot of time every day sanding and waxing, and fitting the parts together is a real struggle…

As I mentioned in the first posts, the pink piece in the kit arrived dirty… and I thought, “Well, if I take a cloth, dampen it a little, and wipe it down, it’ll come off—it’s wood, so it’ll be fine.”

Well, it turns out it wasn’t fine!

I screamed, cursed up a storm—sorry for the bad language—and almost cried…
I didn’t think this would happen.
But anyway, if you look closely, you can still see several spots on the wall… I’ve decided not to touch them anymore… After what happened, I feel really disheartened.

I’ve spent hours dwelling on it, but of course, there’s no fixing what’s happened now.

Well, anyway… that’s how it turned out… a total mess… I’ve learned my lesson, sure, but it’s so frustrating! Right on the most visible part…

I’ve been kicking around some ideas, and once I finish the kit, I’ll probably look online for Japanese cherry blossom stickers… and maybe stick one on to cover up that eyesore…

I haven’t done any more building today… I was quite disappointed by what happened… so, more tomorrow.

Oh no that’s disheartening. I was about to mention you can add stickers but you already know the answer. I always do this, the best way to cover imperfections. A big cherry blossom tree would be ideal to hide the stain @Sasa

Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that!! You could maybe try painting a cherry blossom with acrylic paint markers? Or stickers would be a great idea!! I have some mini plastic cherry blossom flowers I got to put in miniatures and a 3D one on the back would Look pretty cool as well! I hope you can fix it. Best of luck!

Oh it’s so heartbreaking, but if you have acrylic paints you can mix a color similar to this pink, firstly try any other wood pice how it’s turn. And then apply on this

Honestly, it really upset me—as soon as I saw the mess, I almost burst into tears. But oh well, there’s nothing I can do about it now. Yeah, I’ll probably end up putting the stickers on.
