ITS SO BEAUTIFUL! Did you use acrylic paint?

Aww thank you @Orangesareus , yes I used acrylic paint. I like to use Liquitex gesso first, then acrylic paint. My favourites are Jo Sonja paints and Tim Holtz. Jo Sonja are very matte but dry quick. Tim Holtz dry slower but can have a sheen, they also have a good range of colours. I also used UV resin on som of the shiny things.

Nice kit to get a good deal on. I have done that a few times. Luckily all seems to be fine. But totally agree with you there, if unsure, better get it from trusted retailer.

@Jo_Zanella Thanks for the tip! I usually use Liquitex as well, our loval craft store carries the brand! And Resin?! Do you have an example to share, I am quite intrigued on how where you use it!

@SunnyCee it’s been locally safe for me to get Market place stuff, I only just meet in public spaces or I would have the doggos with me :stuck_out_tongue:

I love Liquitex gesso too. @Orangesareus. I used resin on the top factory lights over the black (wish I’d kept them gold), also if you look in this link I put resin on my repainted toys. It just smooths them over and takes away the brush strokes a bit. Especially as the Jo Sonja paints are so matte.

@Jo_Zanella Wow this is super informative, I like the shiny effect it made on the toys. I can’t believe you painted the small details like that in top of building. I have a lot of enamel paints by testors and I am thinking I may use those. They’re mostly meant for plastics/metal but I will try one if the wood pieces and see how it holds.

I opened the box last night and I was so shocked lol But slowly I should be good.

Aww I’m happy to share any info @Orangesareus, I’ve learnt from others so happy to do the same. I haven’t used enamel before but the toys have two sides so if it doesn’t work you can turn them around :joy: I was getting a bit over painting, and I think it took away a little from the fun of the build but I am happy I did at the end. Painting the cream bricks was my last straw :joy::joy::joy:. Honestly once you start it is easier than it looks, just one step at a time, you got this
