This is Chinese ancient wording… the first word is ‘day’ or also transit as ‘sun’… but if you want something for good meaning can try ‘Ru Yi ’, meaning may everything go as your wish, here is the icon…
I’m pretty sure these two little bags are clay! Any clay I have gotten in a kit has been dried out and un-usable, so it’s great that you already have some laying around! 
Kind of funny as I could never paint that flower pot like that either! I would end up putting a bunch of swirlies and be done

I think it will certainly come with challenges but it will keep you occupied in a good way.
And yes substitute those plants! 
The air-dry clay probably won’t work anymore so I hope you’ve got some lying around or if possible maybe make something else in place?

When I did this I just used an acrylic pen to paint the white pot with random mountain lines.
I also just painted gold on the blue cabinet handle. I gave up on putting the gold paper on it. Just couldn’t cut them with precision even with my exacto knife and scissors.
Lastly, my yellow wood for the bench was warped, so I just made do using super glue.
