Since I am not used to old version kits, I had a hard time building this. But I was able to complete it in 2 hours or so since it’s just a small project.
Instructions say to build this chest with a skeleton hand. I used markers to write on the letters which was a big mistake. I should have just used a pen because the marker made it smudge-y. I tried using the silver pen that went with the kit but I found it too dark so I used my own silver pen instead for the details.
I found it hard to work with the wood parts of this kit because they are thinner than the ones I’m used to. And the pieces don’t snap together, I had to cut a little piece just to make it work.
At the back of the box is where you place the battery pack. You need to be extra careful here or else you’ll end up like me breaking the door i just glued them together again but it’s unsightly. Good thing it’s in the back.
Building this in 2 hours is impressive Jill, even more so when it’s an older style kit! I do agree that the wood given from back in the days is a lot more fragile.
I think it turned out really cool and spooky! Perfect as a decoration with a little drawer to store I don’t know what.
You built on old diy in 2hours?? That’s hells impressive it turned out so cute albeit a little bit plain?? It have so much yet so little at the same time!! But it’s adorable nonetheless
Such a cool and unique finish! The spooky lighting and shadows look amazing, and you did a great job pushing through the tricky parts, @Jill_Francisco!
I haven’t seen much of this kit yet. You’ve made it beautifully. I think it’s difficult to create the details from paper, but you’ve done it very nicely.
