Hey everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great Saturday
I just finished the Record Mood build, it took me 2 days and many hours. If you like painting then you’ll like this build! This build was a nice challege for me that i thankfully couldnt finish in a day lol!

Heres all the pieces it came with:

Before painting:

7 layers of paint later (2 of white, 5 of blue) and i used a fine tip sharpie for the details

5 coats for the blue? I dont think I’ve ever done more than 3 for any other colour than white, and I got tired of that so I went and got some fancy “Fusion Mineral Paint” white so I only have to do like 1 coat!

Yeah, it’s definitely worth it for the white, because there’s usually so much white to paint in all the older builds! I ain’t got time to do 7 coats of white! Your build looks great btw!

But honestly painting really tests my patience! But looking at yours it’s definitely worth it in the end.

You did a beautiful job on this. I don’t know if you have Walmart in Canada. I use apple Barrel acrylics and blue is sometimes hard to cover but it shouldn’t take five coats. As far as the white, I used a color called Snow White on my gingerbread house. It has a tiny dot of black in the tint which makes it cover very well. Even on the edges it will cover in one coat

This one is the next one I need to build! I also do a lot of coats of paint since I don’t want the wood to peak through.

Thank you! After this experience ill definitely be using my own paints to make the process faster But i am quite happy this build took me longer just because i finish them so quickly (by accident!) Ill look into those colors though, ill probably go to Michaels though and use a coupon there. Thank you so much for your help!

I know right! I love the type writter, i used to have one as a kid and write everyones christmas letters with it I miss it, it sadly went missing after i moved out

You’re very welcome. If you’re going to Michael’s, they don’t have apple Barrel acrylics so I would look for something that is not a stark white. It needs to have a very slight hint of gray to it to cover better
