📖 [Rolife Journey] Day 1: Sakura Pavilion Build Update 🌸

This kit is definitely on the DIY side. A lot of pieces need to be glued to stay together, and I actually love that. Patience and precision are key here.

I’m terrible with wires, but I did my best. I know I can do it, it just takes time, which is honestly a good way to practice patience.

I couldn’t resist coloring each cherry blossom flower with a darker shade of pink and adding a few yellow dots in the middle to give them more depth. I know that step comes later, but I was too intrigued to wait.

This piece of wood came in slightly bent, so I couldn’t put it flush with the rest of the cabinetry. I was slightly annoyed :sob: but it’s okay it gives it character

For those who have built this, did you use the pre-made tree branches, or did you make your own using wires?

Next challenge: tackling the strings and tassels :sparkles:

Great idea to paint flowers and on paper, before popping out. As for the board, sometimes if not too thick, gluing can help. But if thicker, may be warped. I think Nita was explaining how to fix. OR tell customer service and they may replace.

Thank you  I liked the end result of the cherry blossom clusters.

The little bent was negligible ahahah I dont mind it after everything is done… its still a very lovely kit

That’s a good idea to paint flowers. You did wired great. Perfect

Thank you! It turned out really well! It was a little tedious but worth it. I may add some few more touches ones they’re attached to the tree

I’ve recently ordered this kit. Woohoo the patience you’ve got there. I hope I have the same patience as you if I will build mine in the future.

I love what you did with the flowers! Will steal the idea if I’m not lazy!

I’m happy to know that this kit has a lot of DIY stuff because that’s what I’m after. :pink_heart:Hopefully you’ll be able to tackle the demon that Dora is one day hahahaha.

In terms of the warped wood pieces unfortunately they’re really common with older style kits. I’ve always tried to wet and flatten them but it really doesn’t make much difference. :sob:

I think your wire works look so much better than mine  I have worked on this and it has been on pause for months already. This is definitely one of those kits that need lots of time.

I have not reach the tree part yet so I can’t really help on your question.

Haha thank you! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Feel free to steal the flower idea anytime. The extra DIY aspect is honestly what drew me to this kit too, it makes the build feel more personal. And yes… Dora is definitely a demon I’ll have to face eventually :joy: ahahaha shes not even on my wheel of choices.

Good to know about the warped wood pieces. I was wondering if it was just me. I tried flattening them a bit as well, but it’s reassuring to hear it’s a common thing with the older kits. I just went with it… its an Ancient themed series and it matches well.

THANK YOUUU :sob::sob::sob: im struggling on a wire piece at the moment, because i need such a small part and i need like 5mm of it… i may do a smaller kit in between so i can get fresh eyes :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yesss to smaller in between kits. I remember I built several Rowood flowers in between just to breath. We can do this. Aja!

Hahaha yeah with these ones it does make the build last longer too.

I’ve tried everything haha and they still stay warped. My partner said it’s likely the nature of the wood, even more so because it’s a thin cut. The new kits have thicker wood so it’s less likely to be a problem.

Slow and steady wins the race?

I’ve been working on my current kit for about 2 weeks now and I’m no where near done lol.

What a great idea for the blossoms! It looks really nice. I used the standard tree; this was my first miniature, and I’m not very adept at creating small details yet  the wires are perfectly made
