💖 [Rolife - Heartwarming] A little story about building and giving

I got stuck in our car for close to 10 hours.

Yes, you heard that right. My husband and I went to Stockton, California for his motorcycle track class. I was not allowed to attend the class and they don’t have a waiting area for guests so I got stuck in the car.

It’s a good thing I brought with me two miniature kits. I built the Rolife Sakura bonsai and Country Café from a different brand, with limited space and tools throughout those 10 hours (with a few breaks in between).

After finishing my builds, I noticed the coach’s wife looked very stressed out and unhappy. I can imagine the stress of organizing a class with about 30 students. So I thought about giving one of my builds to her. And boy, she just lit up. I gave her the Country Cafe.

The joy of building and giving is really what I truly like to feel every time I make and give my miniatures. Making someone happy that day by working hard and building some thing small was definitely the highlight of my day.

What a wonderful story ( besides being stuck in the car all day). You definitely made the best of a bad situation. I’ll bet it made her day 100% better.

My daughter made the cafe. It is such a lovely build.

That sucks that you have to wait 10 hours in the car but good thing you brought kits with you. What a way to stay productive while waiting  Now I think I should keep a kit or two in the car in case this happens to me

That was so sweet of you to gift your build. You sure have brightened her day

Thanks Nita. I’m surprised to have finished these in such a tiny cramped space. But making someone happy was the best part of the day.

I now know why I love little kits. They have their place in the event that I get stuck somewhere away from home. The best part of the day is making someone happy.

Was there not a Starbucks or something within 20 miles or so? Ten hours is a LONG time…

We were in a “not so safe” area, so I preferred to just stay in the car :grimacing:. I got busy anyway, and time flew by.

Thanks Tina. I just felt that she needed something to lighten up her day. And it made me feel good inside too. :slightly_smiling_face: @Tkaplan

Luckily, you brought something nice to entertain you, even though it seems difficult to build in the car. You made it very nicely.

Wow first off that’s so sweet of you to wait 10 hours in the car! And you’re also incredibly kind and awesome! I’m sure the coach’s wife will cherish the Country Cafe. This will be a precious memory to keep! :pink_heart:

Nice and wonderful story! Thanks for sharing! Just curious.. How was the experience of building a full kit in the limited space of a closed car?

The cramped space really tested my patience because I’m used to working on a big workbench. But it helps a lot with being resourceful by using the car console and dash as my workbench. The experience also taught me patience and let me out of my comfort zone which really increased my confidence. @TheToday

That is actually really nice.

It makes me want to randomly gift some of my builds…:thinking:It occurs to me that not everyone has the ability to focus on details as well as we do but a lot of people like miniature things.
