🥰 [Rolife - Happiness] 3D Airplane

My my! How could I gorget this. I haven’t told you about my short, yet fun, journey through building my first Rolife small wooden-style kit, the 3D Airplane I’ve received as the October Mistery Prize last year.

Until then, I didn’t really know about these smaller kits! And they’re really wonderful for a break between bigger kits or, you know, if you wanna do something smaller or shorter for a chance, something that could maybe take you one or two evenings. Which is amazing for a rainy Sunday evening, let me tell you that!

As all the kits I know from this “line”, there are three leafs of parts, nothing more, nothing less. And kindly remember… These parts are thinner and more fragile than the bigger kit ones!

Either way, they’re fun to work with. I’ve never thought of building a small plane honestly, but since it was a gift from Robotime, how was I gonna refuse? And I had more fun that I expected putting this small old-fashion wonder together.

The main structure, or the skeleton if you like, reminded me of how you build the skeleton of a ship kit: those long parts coming together with the other ones along the way. And hey! There’s already a sit available for your tiny little pilot.

The process? I found it easy and pretty straightfoward, although there are a couple of pieces “crossing” the main structure from left to right (or right to left, blablabla) that almost made me break the side of the plane by mistake. Phew! Close enough, but didn’t happen.

Oh, and hey! The tiny little pilot already has his (or her) cute miniguns ready for action.

Yeah, yeah… A football match was in the background while I was busy with this airplane

Anyway. The front of the plane and the propeller were also pretty easy to put together. And you can turn it around as much as you want! It’s a nice stress-reliever, let me tell you that.

Almost last but not least, the wings. The first part of them is easy and quick, just attach it to the main structure and there we go, my friend. But then…

Then you’re adding the second layer. And then, for the third one, it may take a bit of your time to assemble the three layers of wings together with the provided parts for it, so you’ll slightly move the wings up and down and left and right until the three parts fit. And then same story on the other side. It was fun nonetheless!

Aaaand finally, the base. I’m gonna say, I was a bit reluctant about this when I received it from @Robotime, like “what is this little wooden uncolored thing? This is not my kind of kit”. But my mind opened after I started with it, and it’s a different way of enjoying your Rolife kit.

Also, it can easily make its way through your shelves if you’re running out of space. Easier than with the bigger ones

What do you think @Orangesareus? Should I bring a tiny pilot along with Rose and Jack so he can pilote this thing?

I actually having a trouble with some of wooden kits and it stress me out when one kit will be broken. So I am not really a fan of wood kits. Though I was amazed by you guys was able to pull it off.

This is so cute coz it’s tiny. It’s always nice to do small kits in between big builds to relax.

Looks like a Fokker DR1, nice build!

Very nice! I have this one as well. I might do it for a bit of a break after I finish my current project, which is a tough one.

This is absolutely gorgeous. I love it a lot.
I do like the look of the plain wood sometimes and it suits this model.

Yeah, that’s the main reason I’m not liking them as much as the bigger ones :stuck_out_tongue: they’re still cute and nice to build.

I’m not sure! Cuckoo Clock? Dream Coffee Factory?

They are both amazing kits. I haven’t done dream gift factory yet but the cuckoo clock I have done them and it’s really nice.

Look up the Red Baron, it is a WW1 triple wing plane, quite famous actually

AHAHAHAHW i do not trust those two to keep this airplane afloat!!! They have a bad record of bad juju and crashing into things!

Which game were you watching lol. Also you should paint this!!! I can see the cool colours that you can do! or like cool decals to add.

What are you building now anyways?

I think it was a replica of red barrons. Didnt he fly that? I know it was a Fokker

Ah so the big ones are not really complicated?

Love that design. Great w

I love this design

Oh that’s kinda cool how it has a base! The seat for a pilot is chef’s kiss, they really don’t let go of any details! :pink_heart:

It’s also smaller than imagined.

It was interesting hearing your opinion on this kit.

I would have guessed this kit was right up your alley because you’ve built several ships and vehicles models in the past.

Is it the wood color that made it less desirable for you? It turned out very beautiful. It has such a complex shape. Maybe color would be too much.

I like these kind of models sometimes. Most of the time miniatures are my jam. Ive been wanting to try a super creator.
